Itchy, periodic, bee stinging sensations all over body?

Hi, I wasn't quite sure of what topic to put this under, so I think neurology is the closest, if not, the right one.

Ok, so for ages, like maybe 2 years now. I have been experiencing these Itchy-bee-sting like sensations all over my body, and when I say all over my body, I don't mean all at the one time, it's more of a periodic type of sensation that just 'pops' up in different places around my body, for example; I just had one on my leg, then 5 seconds later I got one on my stomach, and then my foot. These prickle/stings that I feel do not have any visual symptoms, such as bumps rash, etc. It's just invisible pain "literally the feeling that a bee just stung me real quick". Right now, it is 1:52 AM and I am awake because these stings are too intense, and can not be ignored, no matter how tired I am. I take anti-histamines (claratyne) and it doesn't seem to rid them, not even in the slightest. These 'stings' have been going on for 4 days now and I have lost so much sleep. They don't seem to go away, not even for a little bit during the day. I'm really not sure as to what is causing them, like I can’t think of a trigger, maybe my soaps? Who knows, but all the soaps I use are soap free. When these 'sting-things' happen, I feel I have to scratch them for them to go away, or it turns into an intense sting, it just gets really strong and painful and then slowly tapers off.
Please help me, when I explain this to my GP, he says he has never heard such a thing!
Any insight would be great, thanks kindly, Samantha.

Hulo hullo, I to have this odd condition but mine is always on one side and one side only, my right side. Has been going on for the past couple of years or more and appears to be spreading. It used to be just on my lower right side, lately it is now all the way up to my breast and constantly, mostly at night just stings and stings. The sensations are getting worse, I take Lyrica as well and does not help at all even a double dose. I do have nerve damage in my spine from a epidural 34yrs ago and the result of that was the loss of the use of one leg for about 2 weeks and have suffered since but this sting has only developed in the past couple of years or so and as I said on my right side. I had a Melanoma removed about 16yrs ago, could a nerve have finally 'given out'?. Would be great to know if anyone finds a answer to this as my doctor is stumped as well. I am on a coupleof medications for depression but fail to see how that could be a cause.  Yes be nice to find someone who has actually found a answer. We appear to all be in the same boat as it were.
Regards
Loweja

Hello, hope you are still here. I just started on this site. I've been suffering with all the same symptoms as you including the tremor in my right hand. My dad and older brother also have this tremor. My dad had some kind of nerve disorder when he was a kid, he's 77 now. Doctors then said there was nothing that could be done about it and it was not hereditary. Oops, guess they were wrong. My itching and burning started a couple of months ago. I am a 45 yr old male. A lot of stress most of my life. Had a disease called pitariasis when I was in elementary school. No known cause but the only cure is ultraviolet light treatment. It covered my whole body. Still have some scares from it. I've made some changes trying to get control of this. I'm a truck driver and this makes it rough when the only thing I have found to get temporary relief is benadryl.  My hands itch and burn so bad that the only thing that works for them is to wash them with extremely hot water and soap. The heat seams to really help. Same with the shower, but clothing and bedding cause natural heat that makes symptoms worse. Go figure.  If I get cooled off the symptoms subside to a manageable level or even go away. I have become so irritable because of this and the lack of sleep it causes. I've changed detergents, and soaps, and that seems to have helped a little.  I've had complete blood work done and nothing showed up. I have no thyroid gland. Had to have it nuked because it was out of control and could not get it under control. On medication for life and always keep it in check. Been taking B12 and zinc. Can't tell if it is helping but can't hurt. I think it is some neurological thing which is why it is so hard to control. This would explain why it act's and travels the way it does. My wife works with doTERRA oil's (that is how it's spelled if you want to research it) and we are experimenting with them. They are 100% natural and work good for other things we use them for.  All I can say is I wish I was the only one with this problem and no one else has to suffer from this (not even my worst enemy), but since this isn't the case, I hope we find a cure soon.

More on the Demodex Mite.  I have done a TON of Research on this issue and had to put all the pieces together to figure out what was going on.... the crawling Sensation on the Face and Scalp.... and then the stinging Sensation on the rest of my Body.  Everyone has DM.  They normally live at peace with you.  Their Job is to eat dead Skin.  98% of world Population has them.  Babies are Born without them...but get them by 3 years because of Close contact with Mother, People.  100% of People over 80 have them.  DM usually don't cause havoc....until there is an imbalance in your System which explodes their Population.  Then they cause havoc, travel off the Face, Scalp to the Body.... and the stinging Sensation with no visible reason...Begins.  DM overpopulate for several reasons and one of the Major reasons is because of an imbalance in your small intestine in which the bad bacteria takes over the good bacteria.  What happens in your intestine....appears on your Face.  Direct Connection.  The bad bacteria can Show up as several different kinds of bacteria on your Face...such as Candida, Rosacea and a number of other bacteria formats.  DM love that Situation.  That's Food to them.  Because there is more 'food'....they overpopulate.  When they overpopulate, they cause Rosacea or other Skin irritations on the Face, including what is commonly known as 'adult acne' and other forms of acne.  When you chase around the DM on your Face with Tea Tree Oil and other remedies....they travel off the Face to the Body.  The Body is not their first choice....your Face is....but they will gladly go to the Body.  Can't see DM...they are super tiny and not visible to the naked eye.  But you can certainly feel them.... they itch, and you can feel them crawling on your Face...but usually can't feel them on your Body other than the 'sting.'  Most of the time when you feel that 'sting'....look very, very closely.  You might be able to see the 'quick' tunnel...with the Little dot at the end...maybe a small swell or redness...and then a complete disappearance.  Problem is....they lay eggs.  20 at a time.  So..you can have quite a number roaming around your Body.  They cause havoc on the Face, for sure.  For years, you had to treat with TTO and other homemade methods....but a Trial on DM and Rosacea just completed in the US and the breakthrough resulted in confirmation of the Connection between DM and Rosacea.  During that Trial, there have been reports on the travels off the Face to a 'sting' Sensation on the Body.  I already had made that Connection when I had this 3 years ago.  I chased them off my Face with TTO and Neem Oil Treatments and experienced the travel down my neck to my Body....the sting, the tunnel, the disappearance.  I cured it at the time....3 years ago....with Ivermectin from a source outside the US.  NOW....the US has approved Ivermectin for DM.  In the US, it is sold as Sklice by Galderma.  It is the ONLY cure.  Take both the pill and the Lotion.  BOTH!  Lotion has to be from Head to Toe without missing an Inch.  Several weeks apart because the eggs hatch so you have to catch the next wave or the process will start over.  Recommend 3 months of the Lotion before stopping.  Take the pill as well.  It's twice, several weeks apart.  The stinging will stop.  I know... I took it, it cured it.  However, 3 years later.... I have it again.  I have it because of a bad Digestion issue that caused the bad bacteria to overgrow again.  I really Need to eat better....No wheat, no dairy, no sugar....no Alcohol.... and then I would not get it the second time!!!!  But this time, I know how to treat it.

I know what it is.  I had this 3 years ago.... and was able to stop it.  Now it has returned and I know exactly what it is.  I had a severe case of Demodex Mites on my Face, Eyelashes, Ears and Scalp...3 years ago. Those Mites cause small 'tunnel' burrows with a small dot at the end, similar to what a 'comma' Looks like.  It's not Scabies....it's Demodex Mites.  With all the methods that I used to control them on my Face... I drove them off the Face to the Body.  On the Face there was no 'sting'...just the tunnel appearing and the crawling Sensation.  When they travelled to the Body... they entered with a 'sting' Sensation...a quick tunnel and dot at the end....and then that disappears very quickly...and you see nothing.  There is no doubt about it....it is Demodex Mites that have travelled off the Face area.  Until recently there was no cure for Demodex Mites other than using Tea Tree Oil and chasing them around.  Now there is hope.  The US is the first Country to release Ivermectin in Lotion form and legalize the pill form for humans.  Ivermectin is what they give animals to cure Mange.  Ivermectin proved to kill Demodex Mites in Trials....and it has now been released as Sklice by Galderma.  The UK just approved it in 9/2014 and will have it on the market in early 2015.  Europe has in the process...so is Austrialia and Canada.  It's Demodex Mites...People...and they travel to the Body..,.and they 'sting' and disappear.  Demodex Mites have been proven to go Hand-in-Hand with Rosacea on the Face.  Get Sklice!!

I have to tell you that I have had "stinging arm" on the back of my hands,  and both arms sometimes for 30+ years. I have seen MDs, dermatologists  been to several neurologists.  No diagnosis.
My symptoms usually start in the fall,  ( but not always) and last for a week or two.  I thought it was job related, or seasonal allergies. But I have lived in California, Washington, and now retired here in Hawaii, and still get the stinging.
The symptoms  always  start in the afternoon or later.   Sometimes they come on at night with such a burning that I have to hold ice on my arm until it gets numb. You can see nothing on my skin, but sometimes the arm heats up.
Sometimes Benedryl works, as tho' all the nerves are going crazy. I can insert a pin into the stinging areas, and they are all numb. I have no stress, eat healthy, and exercise. Yes, I've ruled out food allergies.

Perhaps an unnamed virus, similar to herpes, or shingles? Maybe the invironment in general, is telling me something.  I have scars from scratching on both arms all over as it travels up or down from year to year.
I do have a slight "essential tremor" as did my grandmother on right arm.
Anybody else out there?
