dearest lilplum you also must get lots of sleep. I have had rst for 23 years through my entire body I can tell you the most important thing that you need to do is to exercise and eat as healthy as possible. I spent the first 5 years on medications that dilated my blood vessels but all I wanted to do was sleep and I realize that there was no quality of living at all even though it helps the pain I had no energy to do anything.
water retention is extremely painful but if you start to exercise that will not only tremendously help the pain but it will also we leave the water retention. I use weights because if I try to do any type of aerobic exercise I get wiped out.
I also know that God has helped me were no one and nothing else could. the Bible says God sent His Word and he heals and so I read my Bible everyday and I pray and God helps me in everything. as you know everything we do is a challenge when you havr este and fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue to that end with out God it's impossible. I also have been the victim of 10 accidents which have damaged 9 discs, fractured c5 in my neck,
and fell off an inversion table on a metal weight damaging to ribs. I could go on but I said all this just to say that through nutrition and exercise and of course above all prayer and Bible if you saw me you would never believe there was anything wrong with me. I ate salmon for 5 years every single day because it helped the nervous system so much.
it was not an easy road but you're a lifetime work right now is to take care of yourself and love others.
God bless you little plum and don't rely very heavily on the doctors because they don't know what to do with Rsds as you already are finding out.
axillary blocks can help if you do them at the beginning they did help me a little bit, but I would not let them do it in my neck it was too painful I was able to tolerate under the arm much better.
also I wear very loose clothes and layers of flip flops glued together so that there is no in town on any of my joints when I walk. I hope this has helped you I wish I could give you everything I have learned in the last twenty three years.
once again God bless and heal and help you.

Is there a treatment for fluid retention related to RSD?
RMSMidt
Thank you so much for your speedy reply. May I ask you one more question? Can you tell me why this swelling, burning, changes in skin, etc. all happened over night? Literally....I went to bed feeling as I normally did, and when I woke up it was the beginning of all these symptoms...plus that rash, although the rash went away after 3 days I believe. Is there anything other than Neorontin and Topomax that can help the symptoms of RSD? I don't remember if I stated after using Nerontin for a few days, I happened to be looking at my telephone and for a few seconds I absolutely didn't know what it was used for!!!! That scared me to death. I called my doctor and told him I wouldn't be taking either of those drugs ever again. But is there some other drug I can talk to my doctor about? He knows that I have researched this problem at length and he actually appreciates it when I come in with articles that speak about RSD. He has said we work as a team. And if I happen to come up with a suggestion he would be more than happy to try it out on me as long as it's not some crazy thing. Anyway, we are a team......but I feel like I'm running with the ball all the time. Like I said, due to my appearance, no one is making a big deal about this. If I wasn't thin, maybe they would look at this differently. But because I am, every male doctor I have has said "You don't look a pound over 125lbs., why is this bothering you so much?" I tell them that it's not just the number on the scale (although that does freak me out because I have no control over this even if I starved myself to death!!) But it's because of what pain this fluid causes......it's horrible.....They say my vascular "system" is leaking into my tissues. Is this what happens with RSD? Does it affect your vascular system? I can't get a straight answer anywhere! What do you think about Vitamin B 12? I've read about it and it says it can help get fluid rention off of you and will also help with the burning pain. Is this true or is it a bunch of lies also?
Sincerely yours,
Lili plum
Dear Lil Plum,
Your leg swelling and fluid are due to RSD only.''Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), also known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy(RSD), is a chronic neurological syndrome characterized by severe burning pain, pathological changes in bone and skin, excessive sweating, tissue swelling and extreme sensitivity to touch.''
