I have absence seizures. Sometimes I stare, but most of the time I collapse, my eyes roll around, while the lids blink very fast, my left hand shakes and the two middle fingers of the left hand rapidly move in and out of the palm, also while all this is happening, the left leg quivers. This is almost, if not impossible, to do normally. According to my neuro, this is an absence seizure.
Hi there. There are different types of epilepsy with different characteristics like grand mal epilepsy you have tonic clonic generalized muscle contractions, frothing, unconsciousness, twitches, metal confusion, some may lose bladder and bowel control, usually preceded by an aura of impending seizure. aura is a strange feeling of muscle stiffening, hearing weird sounds, smelling strange smells etc. absence seizure manifest as brief staring spells where the person is cut off from the surroundings. Others like focal in which one has local twitching of a local area, temporal epilepsy. Hope this helps. Take care.
