Hi Jeni26
I found out I was pregnant and had gallstones with in 5 min of each other! I wanted to keep the pregnancy but was so nauseated the room would spin and I couldnt keep anything down including prenatel vitamins. and becuase of the gallbladder I couldnt eat any fat what so ever! I had to wait 4 months of being sick like this to have my gallbladder out actually it was 3 days short of 5 monhts and my biggest fear was that allie would be to small or not healthy. it kept me up at nights worrying! the only think i put in my mouth was gatoriade and chicken broth, thats it not even a piece of gum or candy and nausea medication that was chemo therepy strength. I actually lost 62 pounds during this time but was heavy to begin with I weighed less when i delivered then when I got pregnant. Allie came Nov 4th 2006 she was due thanksgiving day so she was about 3 weeks early but she weighed 7.7 pounds! I was so relieved! my son boorn in 03 was full term and I ate like a piggy and he weighed 7.6 so I truly think the body compensates but if you can eat EAT and stay hydrated!!!! lots of water and gatoriade. eating is important but if your doing it not to gain weight then u both will suffer after my GB came out I ate everyhting to make up for not eating fat. Eat good foods like salads and high protien soups and eggs and whole grain cerals and yougart and you wont gain that much weight but your baby will get what he or she needs!
