Am I dangerously underweight?

I am 19 year old female. I'm 5'8" tall and my current weight is about 114 lb. According to my BMI, I'm underweight. Few years ago my BMI was in the normal range. When I was 16  experienced spontaneous decrease in appetite and lost approximatelly 12 pounds. Since then my weight didn't change significantly. I didn't manage to gain almost any weight.  I've been to doctor few times in the past 3 years and my blood work was fine. I wasn't anemic or deficient in any major nutrient. I also had my thyroid hormones checked, and they were fine too. So, according to tests I wasn't malnourished. Now I'm trying to gain some weight. However I'm worried that during past three years my development and growth were negatively affected due to my low weight. I know that this period is not exactly one of intense growth, but I'm still worried. Could you please tell me if my low weight could significantly affect my development in that particular period of my life? Thanks in advance.

Some people are just thin, and thinner is better than fatter.  But to gain some weight, eat more protein and see about a program of resistance training -- that will put on muscle, not fat, which is healthier.

You're not DANGEROUSLY underweight, but you're underweight. I would suggest gaining 10-15 lbs and you're fine.
