Do your best to steer clear of all grain fed meats. That is animals feed with corn not grass. It's difficult to tell because distributors dint have to label it that way but it makes a huge difference in the quality of meat...
Well again, this can be misleading. Dark meat turkey is as high in fat as some grass-raised beef and pork, and salmon is very high in fat, that's the whole point of eating it. It's not the fat, it's the type of fat, and how well it suits the person.
You should only consume lean meats. Ground turkey, tilapia, salmon, some chicken. I personally don't eat pork or beef because they are high in fat.
I never herd of diet saying not to eat meat unless is vegetarian. Do eat meat, its needed for body. The only thing im doing is eat less of it, and thats only because I dont fancy it.once I stopped eating meat and I had dental problem. If you eat little or none, try to get the nutrition , vitamins from other meals then.
Whether one does better on meat or not is an individual thing. Eating too much isn't a good idea, and not all meat is created equal -- beef and pork, for example, are very high in fat, whereas buffalo and venison are lower in fat than many vegetarian foods. Just depends on what you eat and how well you digest it. Some are born to be vegetarian, some are not just as a few people are born with the enzyme to digest dairy but most people aren't. We're not all the same. And chicken is really meat, particularly dark meat. Some diets are quite high in animal food, and some are not, there's no one size fits all and dieting generally doesn't work anyway -- permanent changes in one's eating habits are what works.
