Tactile stimulation obsession

Ever since my first memories, I have had a compulsive need to stimulate my skin, usually around my hands,  but I also get satisfaction on most other skin surfaces. Any softly pointed object, such as a semi-dulled pencil or paper folded to produce a soft corner , will suffice. I am in my 60's, and this has been anywhere from mildly to somewhat annoying for me, and a source of negative self image.
