Unintended joint degeneration

I have had one of my ankles fused and now am having issues with the opposite ankle. My question is it common that due to compensating for the fused ankle my gait has changed so much it is affecting opposite ankle?

Hi there!

Well, though abnormal gait and excessive stress on one of the ankles could be responsible for degenerative changes in the joint the symptoms could also be caused due to unrelated causes and it would be difficult to comment on the situation without a detailed clinical evaluation. I would suggest getting this evaluated by an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
