Hand pain due to punching

okay, well i was running in my house to get the phone, when my hand and foot hit the trimming on the walls and door. My foot seems fine the skin was ripped off but im worried bout my hand. I pretty much punched the trim or whatever its called  with my pinky and ring finger, no bruising, no blood or anything but i have a pain between my knuckles and wrist it feels as if its something to do with my nerve?  or idk  and i can move all my fingers fine, it just hurts when i put pressure onto my open hand, as if i was to do a push up or grab something some what hard.  what is it?  im pretty sure its not broken, or fractured?  but what could it be? and how long should it hurt for?

It is possible you have a boxers fracture.  If you have not already been, you need to go to the doctor and have an xray done.  It is possible that you bruised a nerve, but your symptoms sound like a boxers fracture to me.  Please make sure you have this checked out.  If not corrected, it can cause more problems in the future.

I agree with Sara, you need to tell your parents and ask them to take you to the doctors.  The doctor will do an xray to see if it is broken or sprained.  They may even put a splint on your hand until it feels better.  Good luck and I hope you hand feels better soon.

Hi!  The first thing I'm going to tell you is to tell your parents.  Let them have a look at it.  Now, if this happened recently within the last 48 hours, you can use ice to keep down the swelling and try not to use it.

You probably need to go to the doctor.  Odds are that you may have sprained it or possibly it's a more serious injury.  But you need to go to the doctor for an xray at least to see if there's any damage.  Tell your parents about this injury and they  will probably take you to the doctor in the morning.

No banging on the drums until your parents have seen your hand!!  Try not to use it much.

Good luck and let us know what happens.
Sara
