Knee Sprain

Had MRI for knee sprain. Ortho says probable bone bruise. I get a copy of the MRI report and find numerous other issues that he did not even mention. Did he not read the report and just went by the MRI images? Is this usual? Shouldn't doctors go over the report with the patient?

Thanks for your response. The doctor returned my message and explained he did NOT see a fracture on the report so it must be very small and I shouldn't be concerned. The other items on the report are fairly minor and will resolve themselves (according to him) so he didn't bother mentioning them!  I like to go into details, but maybe he assumed most patients  don't care to know all the minor things, but I'm not like that.

Hi!

Yes, doctors should explain the report to his patient in terms the patient can understand. If you have doubts about the MRI report then you can ask your doctor to go over this with you. Hope this helps. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
