Smashed foot

I smashed my foot a couple of months ago with an object that weighed about 40 pounds. I went to the clinic and they did an X-ray. They said here were no breaks or fractures but said I had smashed it really bad. I was on crutches for several days. The bruising has gone away and the swelling has too for he most part. After I'm on my feet for a long period of time the foot will swell. I also have a round knot or bump about the size of a marble that seems attached to the bone. That place has started itching and is still super sore. I'm worried that maybe they missed a break or fracture in the X-ray. My question is whether or not I should go back for a second opinion or if these are normal signs of healing when you have a severe smash. Thanks!

I forgot to mention that the bump is also itchy and so is the skin over it. It also doesn't move and seems to be attached to the bone.
