I'm not sure what I was trying to say,yesterday..? I iced every 20 mins,& bandage was sooo tight, I had to loosen it. I also went out w/cousin to get my hair cut,by his new girlfriend..what was I thinking...& was in soo much pain,so I wondered if someway I may've caused it...I guess it's another one of those unknowns..I've also tried L-Aranine for 1 month, but Chiropractor said try it for 2 months..ok...It's the natural vein opener circulation promotor, even good for High Blood pressure, & those problems..Hope you're doing well. I'm also doing Napolea drink, for pain..20.00 btle.Cactus Pear juice, ect.
Dec 2008, & I looked up notes, it was cold & hot, redder, than the other foot, with in 1 week...I was told to ice for 1 hr.in a day?not enog.info.
I looked it up,& that's pretty much what's going on. Wonder why the surgeon/foot Dr. never came up with this....Unbelievable..Just kept saying he never heard of this...frozen foot, never could feel the difference in the foot, over & over...I think I've been going to him for 10 yrs.? & I asked if he did any classes about new procedures,& he stated he had to do renewal classes..Thanks, a lot.
Does your pain include burning and feeling like your foot is on fire? They tried to stick that label on me because they could not figure it out. Oh you have nerve pain it must be CRPS but I knew it was not, because I have a friend with CRPS. When was your surgery?
Is he telling you that you have Reflex Sympathetic Disorder or RSD (also called complex regional pain syndrome-- CRPS)?
I still haven't checked, yet. I have government health care, too,but do have access to some regular private Dr.'s. I did get a snap or 3 to my foot @ the Chiropractor yesterday. It did loosen up my foot. He's done it before the surgery, too. 2 yrs.ago? & says it's not Raynoids disease, but called it something else, which I forgot now..R and stated it's not just 1 nerve, from cutting the neuroma out,it involves several,& no cure...I trust him more than the others. At least he explains what's going on,& not leave me in limbo! Thanks!
I forgot to mention I understand, I used to think they were both the same, that is until I needed to see a foot and ankle surgeon.
He is not a foot and ankle surgeon that is an orthopedic surgeon (an M.D. or a D.O). Ask your chiropractor about your foot my was wonderful in treating my foot. A podiatrist is considered a DPM (they do NOT go through medical school) they have their own schooling. And once out of school I do not think they do not do near the amount of training as with a residency and fellowship.
Thanks for the reply! My podiatrist did they Surgery so doesn't that make him a foot & ankle surgeon? The 2nd one was even a wrose nightmare.Did injections & stated walk right, walk normal...? 3rd visit I wouldn't allow any add. shots,so he couldn't say that condisending comment. Today I'am going to my chiropractor, for lower right back pain...since the left side is off,I'm sure the right is feeling it.
I am sorry you have gone through so much. I had surgery for tarsal tunnel (it is like carpal tunnel only in the foot). That helped the horrible burning pain on the inside of my foot but did nothing for the outside or the Achilles pain. Two years multiple doctors, tests, nerve blocks, and physical therapy did nothing. It was not until I saw a chiropractor that I started to get relief. You might want to see if you can find a good gentle chiropractor to treat your foot.
Also you said podiatrist, have you tried a foot and ankle surgeon there is a huge difference in the two. A foot and and ankle surgeon is an MD and has much more education and experience. A podiatrist is not an M.D.If you try to find one your best bet is try one from a teaching hospital. If you have not gone to a foot/ankle surgeon that is what I recommend first, then if you do not get any answers try a chiropractor (or you could do both.)
I hope this helps,

I have been back several times, refitted w/orthotics,& even went to second Podiatrist, who injected in the scar sight/alcohol...He said I had an ankle deformity. He tried anestetic,1st time, which worked...but only lasted 1-2 hrs.. Had a new mri showed no neuroma, but 2nd Dr.stated they don't always show on MRI. I pretty much have given up. Thanks
Hi there!
From your post I understand that you had a previous surgery for a neuroma which was excised and not you have again developed pain. Well, before suggesting any treatment or possible pain management options I would suggest an evaluation by an orthopedician. Potential causes include bony spurs, fractures, tendonitis, fascitis, nerve irritation, neuromas etc. Nerve blocks are mostly in neural causes. The management would essentially depend on the cause diagnosed. You could discuss the possible options with your doctor after the evaluation.
Hope this was useful.
Take care!
