Hey everyone, on June 4th 2013 I suffered a jones fracture on my left foot. A few hours later I was at the orthopedist having a fiberglass cast put on. Since then, I've been 100% non-weight bearing and using a bone stimulator for 10 hours each day. What I wanted to ask was, what are my chances that this thing is healed when I go back for my 6 week x-rays? When I first broke it, my doctor told me that it would take 6 weeks to heal and then a few more in walking boot most likely. Two weeks after the injury I had x-rays taken again, where told me that the x-rays usually look worse before they look better (I didn't see much change).
Do you think that after 6 weeks, 100% NWB with a bone stimulator, it will be healed or at least moved into a walking boot? I am getting really nervous about surgery because of all the things I read online, but looking at my x-rays it appears that my fracture is a bit more towards the middle of the 5th metatarsal rather than at the absolute base (compared to all the other pictures I see). The x-rays I attach are from June 21st, 2013 and I am scheduled to have x-rays again and possibly cast removed on July 19th, 2013. I feel absolutely no pain anymore and it kind of just feels like a bruise (though there was no bruising at the time or at 2 weeks when I had a new cast put on). The break is not 100% through, is this a good thing or bad thing when it comes to healing?
