chronic tendinitis or something else?

I've been dealing with this horrific pain in both of my ankles for years now. My doctor said thay i have chronic tendinitis in both ankles. It was so then yhat she reduced my hours at work from 8 to 5. I can be on my feet for about 3 hours then if i sit down for thirty seconds, and get back up, I'm in excruciating pain with swelling. I hop around on the less hurting ankle to try balancing and dragging the other ankle until i can bear the pain to walk. It's a nightmare when i sit down in the car, get home and try to get in the house to my cane. Please help me. Is this chronic tendinitis or something else.

You may want to try the orthotic inserts that you can get at pharmacies/stores that you step into and they "fit" you for them if money is an issue.  That would be hundreds of dollars cheaper.

You may want to inform your MD that your insurance does not cover the Ortho inserts, and could he/she refer you to PT or an outpatient orthotic clinic.  Sometimes they can fit you with something.  But explain to the MD your insurance issue and see what they suggest.

Also i forgot to mention, doctor at the orthopedic clinic gave me a prescription for orth inserts, Medicaid doesn't pay for them and i can't afford them on my own.

I've been told about 7years ago that i needed to have both ankles broken and reset. I've had physical therapy once before and going again right now for the same condition. Ive been given naproxen, ibuprofen, told to try Tylenol arthritis for some reason i don't know why because i was told i didn't have that. I've had the ankle braces, one with Velcro and one with strings. I'm not good with medical terms but the area where the nightmares started is on both sides of my ankles. Mainly the outer sides of my ankles. And a sharp pain in front where you can bend you ankles up and down. My doctor had me to see a specialist a while back. She checked around my ankles and they were swollen to the point that she asked me can she see if there's any fluid in my ankles. To both of our surprise, nothing was n the syringe. Today at work i wore my ankle brace on the right foot and got home tried to get out of car and just stopped walking until i could drag my foot on the side to get in the house. The orthopedic clinic that im going to told me that i have flat feet and my heels on both feet are turning outward and my tendon in my right foot is way worse than the left. I don't know what to do at this point

I'm sorry to hear of your problems and that you have been suffering for so long.

You don't say which tendons are affected?  Can you tell us?

What treatment have you received?  Did they put you in a brace or cast, send you to PT, give you any medications, instruct you on exercises, wear orthotics, etc.?

Do you have any other medical problems?

Are you seeing the same doctor?  Is this an Ortho MD that specializes in feet and ankles?  If not, then I would find one that does.  No one should have to suffer that long.

I will await your answers to the questions above, but in the meantime, if you are not seeing a specialist, find one and make an appt.
