CA-Overy Cancer

if patient is responding well to chemo does surgery essential for 3rd stage overian cancer.my wife's CA-125 level came down to 100u/ml from 6000u/ml after 3rd chemo.

Hi, I am sure there are more people here more qualified maybe to answer your questions, but I am assuming you are asking that if your wife is responding well to chemo and her CA125 is coming down, and hopefully that would mean maybe her tumors are shrinking (thinking that is a goal of the doctors) so they can remove all tumors and all cancer?  Getting all cancer out of her body is the ultimate goal no matter which way it happens.  Good Luck.  Jane

Sounds like your wife is progressing well with chemo.  However, a CA125 is not always accurate, so I would not want to take the chance that something was left inside that could have been removed with surgery.  I would proceed with surgery.
