Hi Liz ,
My ca125 results after surgery but before chemo were 10 and chemo didn,t bring my numbers done either they stayed at 10 all through the chemo . My oncologist said that he thinks this is because all the cancer was removed during surgery .
  Best wishes Angiexx

Any time that you can finish chemo with numbers like that it is great. So congratulations! I can understand as I have been on chemo so long I think that i would feel lost too. But hopefully you wil soon be yourself and able to get out and enjoy life to the fullest! Wishing you the best of luck.

Congrats Liz!!! 9 is a great CA-125 number. Don't worry, I had the same lost feeling after finishing chemo. It takes a month or so before you start to feel back to normal, at least that was for me. You're so used to fighting, fighting, fighting, it's hard to adjust to normal life when done. Wishing you and NED a dance for life, Deandra

Congratulations!!  You made it thru!!  9 is a wonderful number.  Be sure to be gentle with yourself.  Finishing chemo is 1 of the 3 toughest times and it's normal to feel somewhat lost in this transition phase.  We fight so hard when we're getting chemo.  Glad you have looked into the vaccine trial.  I checked into it but had been out of chemo too long.  It sounds very promising.  I know some others that are going to probably enroll.  They are taking both first timers and those with recurrences which I think is really good.
Again, congrats!!

Should have checked spelling - ugh.  Can I blame it on my big chemo belly right now?  And the Decadron, Benedryl and Ativan???

I am very quiet but read a lot on here.  Thanks for the congratulations.  I now enter that "lost" zone.  I am hopefully going to be accepted to the Buffalo vaccine study since my tumor tested positive for the protein but the new trial hasn't started and may not for a month or two.  I need to be 6 weeks out of chemo anyway so I hope the timing works.  If not, it's not meant to be.

I am looking forward to a few weeks of NO treatment.  I hope this happens.  I was lucky that my CA125 dropped from 350 to 9 before chemo but it hasn't dropped at all during chemo.  That worries me a little unless I find out 9 is my number.  I was diagnosed IIC grade 2/3 endometroid ovarian cancer.

After this, I try to move on with life and get back to excerising.  I will have another surgery in April to remove the IP port and a small vulvar cyst that's been hanging around for a few years.  We figure that no cyst should remain and I agree.  That will entail another small recovery but better now that later.  I want to heal this summer!!

I go to a great Naturopath and hope the supplements (very similar to Leslee's) strengthen my recovery.  I haven't asked the doctor when they declare NED but I will just enjoy this time away as best as I can!!!!

Liz
