Could i have ovarian cancer? Doctor said it was impossible for someone my age though?

*details*
im a 20 year old female, i am 5 ft 3 but 16st 11lbs, although im very overweight i play lots of sports so im generally fit.
* menstrual- irregular now for 2 years, went 8 months without one then went 12 weeks with one, had a break for 2 weeks then had one for 13 weeks only this time on my 13th week my menstrual was really heavy (as in having to change every half hour)
* abdomenal bloating- stomach rock solid and bloated for months now, getting worse, my stomach has increased by about 6 inches in the last few months without putting on any more weight.
*abdomenal pain- lower abdomenal pain round pelvis area. sharp shooting pain also at bottom left side of pelvis, also have upper abdomenal pain all for past 2 weeks
*nausea- been feeling really sick for 2 weeks now, i have not yet been sick but i feel as though im going to.
*constipation/diarrihoea/- past 2 weeks again. one day il be at toilet every half hour with diarreoa then i dont go to loo for days, also got constant gas and severe pains caused by this.
*back pain/ leg pain- lower back pain and leg(thigh mainly) pain..feels like pressure type pain
*dizzyness/lightheaded/almost fainting- past 2 weeks, cant stand for very long or i get this and almost end up fainting
* shortness of breath- the most scary symptom, really struggling to breathe, breathing slowed down and ed up gasping for air, feels as though there is something at bottom of lungs stopping my lungs from expanding as much as they should
*frequent urination- usually can go for a good few hours without urinating now i go every hour to half hour (happening for months)
*loss of appetite- the only reason im having anything to eat is when i get severe hunger pains.

i have been to the doctors but she just dismissed all my symptoms except from frequent urination and decided ( without any tests) that i had a urine infection, i got no sick line or anything even though i can barely stand

i have a pelvic ultrasound booked for the 17th august

please help, i feel like crying im in so much pain. doctor has really angered me as i said i felt that i might hav ovca and she said no chance, didnt even test or anything

THANKS x

**Update** its been nearly 3 weeks now and still feel really unwell. ive been vomiting (like a thickish clear liquid). stomach pain been really bad although ive had a couple of good days, as in the pain has been alot more bearable, ive lost 7lbs in weight since ive been  unwell although my stomach is so bloated it looks like its getting bigger. First and foremost change doctors- i too went through the same ordeal and the fact in 2009 your doctor doesnt believe a 20 year old can have ovarian cancer is a joke. I so feel for you as i had all your above syptmoms too. Are you seeing a gyno or GP, I would def be going to a gyno and having an internal with that ultrasound, if that shows nothing, demand a CT , if that shows nothing then a laporoscopy and dont stop til you have answers. It is more common for women your age to have polycystic ovaries or endomteriosis which can cause agony as well. Just better to be safe then sorry! You know your body best.  I also took my mum to every single appointment and still do (im now 26 ha ha)

Please keep us updated.

I agree with the others and I would go to the ER if you are throwing up with a rock hard stomach. If it isn't gyn related, it could be gastro related. I know you are 20 but do you live near your mom where she could go with you. Someone who is not in pain and miserable that could also speak up for you?

I'm convinced we have to be our own advocates. Drive the Dr. nuts until he does something for you.

Be sure to keep the appointment for the pelvic ultra-sound.  That may give you some answers.  If not, keep pushing the doctors to help you.  You should not have to suffer like this.  Many things could cause your symptoms. Although ovca is not common in such a young woman, it can and does happen and needs to be ruled out to be safe.  Marie
