I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2003. After surgery (removed ovaries, uterus, omentum, gall bladder, appendix, and quite a bit of my intestines), I had 16 Months of chemotherapy treatments. I stayed clear until 2008, at which time the cancer metastasized to lymph nodes between my breasts. After surgery, I had six rounds of chemotherapy. In 2012, the cancer metastasized again (liver, phrenic nerve that controlled my right lung, and the pericardium). Surgery and chemotherapy again. I’ve been clean since finishing chemotherapy in September 2012. This past September my tests showed that my CA125 increased and the ct showed two questionable spots on my liver. In October, the CA125 increased again. In November, it increased again. I had another ct scan and a pet scan. A biopsy was performed on December 1st (3 1/2 weeks ago). The pathology report was negative. Another CA-125 was done on December 15th and it increased again. Two oncologists are puzzled. So, am I. What could cause my CA125 to continue to rise? If the pathology report was negative, what is on my liver? I’m very perplexed and don’t know what to do. My oncologist suggested that I return in three months. I don’t want to wait that long. Suggestions?
