Low energy 2 years after treatment

April 2008, I was diagnosed with stage 3C. Surgery, including debulking and 6 treatments of chemo, including blood transfusion and blood clot. Finished all the end of October 2008. I have 100% more energy than I had at the end of chemo, but do not have even half the energy I had before the diagnosis. I can only do one thing a day (afternoon or evening) and even with the modified schedule, most of the time I need to stay in bed every other day to rest. I used to be high energy. Ran day and night. I was 62 when diagnosed. I have had everything checked out. Heart, lungs, blood work. Everything is fine. My doctor said it is not usual for the tiredness to last this long. I get vitamin B12 shots once a month and take vitamins. Nothing seems to make any difference. I don't sleep extremely well, but haven't for the last 15 years (since menopause). Do other people have this? What can I do to get my old energy back? Will it just take more time?

I am finally beginning to get my energy back. I was diagnosed March 31, 2008 and had surgery three days later. I'm still not 100%; I'm not sure I ever will be.

It will 3 years april since my dx. I am just now starting to get some energy back. I am still not a 100% yet, bu slowly getting there. Our bodies have gone thru hell and back, it is going to take time. How much I can't tell you. I still get chemo brain and somedays severe fatique, but all in all it is better. I try to do one new thing a day, and if I get tired then I back off and look back to a year ago, where I couldn;t do much of anything.. We need to have patience. We need to baby ourselves

I'm five years out now......I was 55 at diagnosis.  It took me what seemed forever to get my strength back.....I don't think I got 100% of my energy back but at least 95% .  I guess I don't complain because my chemo-brain and lack of energy are so much better that they were five years ago.  I  continued to improve with time.....if you need to rest then do it.  Don't beat yourself up....give yourself permission to be good to yourself....you have been through a lot and let's face it (I will be 61 next month) we are no longer spring chickens!  I don't know how this happened to me, but, my mind's eye of me doesn't match the image I see looking back at me in the mirror!  That image looks tired sometimes...that's okay.
You take care.
Peace.
