I'm Finally BACK!

I'm so sorry you all, I know it's taken me a long time to get back on the forum. I had such a hard time with my last hospital stay, I went into a depression. I'm feeling better now. On Feb 4th, I did have my colostomy reversal which should have had me smiling from ear to ear; unfortunately, I wasn’t able to enjoy it with the grim news that followed the surgery. A “2nd look” surgery was also performed during the reversal and although there was no visible activity to the eye, my pathology reports came back revealing a number of microscopic cancerous cells still lingering in my body. These cancer cells are tricky suckers, I tell ya. Even though they are microscopic, it’s not “a clean bill of health” which was what I was aiming for after 6 months of despicable chemicals being pumped into my system. It’s frustrating especially when my CA-125 tumor marker test has been well within the normal range for the last few months. To top it all off, 12 days into my recovery I knew something wasn’t right and insisted I be checked into the hospital once again. Enter Boulder Community Hospital stay for 13 days…AGGGHHHHHHH, that was terrible. Jan, I can't thank you enough for keeping the forum updated and checking up on me so much while I was in the hospital. You are an incredible woman, and I care about you so much.
The next plan of action is MD Anderson on March 25th. I need to get a 2nd opinion regarding these cancer cells in my stomach.
I'm trying to get back to work, trying to get back to a normal life...it's so difficult. I've missed you all so much, I just couldn't bring myself to get on the computer... I need to get updated on everyone here, I'm sure it will take me a few days. I hope everyone is doing well. I pray for you all daily. Thanks again Jan, YOU ARE MY HERO!! With love, Deandra

You made my day...Have had a rough week! I am so glad you are back!!! I have been thinking about you constantly!!! I know you didnt expect this obstacle but you can overcome it!!! You will get stronger everyday and fight this beast!!! I pray you feel good and continue to feel good..this is just a small hurdle that you will overcome...Please take it one day at a time. How could I not have posted earlier?!?!? Reading the messages you all have posted has left a HUGE smile on my face. You all are family to me. You have lifted my spirits in ways I didn't think possible with the way I've been feeling. Thank you!! I know my fighting spirit will show face again, it's just taking a little time. As you all know, this cancer is very hard to deal with... sometimes it consumes you. I guess I just felt like what the h^ll was all that IV and IP chemo for -  d@mn cancer cells are still around?!?!? Oh well, the nature of the beast. I'm going to start reading through the posts to get caught up. I've missed you all so much. I am thrilled you are feeling well enough to get back to your life and us!!!  I'm with Becky, this place hasn't been the same without you.  Now if we can just get a few others well, (or better) we can get this forum back to the ROCKING place it used to be.  Your mom was wonderful everytime I called, so please tell her I send my regards and give her a hug for me.  I hope you and Gail will be able to meet up at MD Anderson. It would be wonderful if more of us could meet in person.  If all goes well, I will get to meet with Gail here in Nashville before she flies out to Texas.  Can't wait Gail!!

You are a true fighter, and I have no doubt in my mind that you will continue to fight no matter what. As for the depression? heck you deserve the right to feel down with the news you got. Feel sad, and come back fightin'

How great it is to see you posting again!  I know its been a tough road, but you're obviously strong and have made it through all this.  So you'll be at MD Anderson March 25th?  I will be, too!  I have all my testing on the 24th, and the appointment with my doctor on the 25th.  This is fate, or maybe just good luck, but there has to be a way we can find each other and meet, especially since we'll be in the same department.  This is my third appointment, so I can help you figure out the maze of buildings and parking garages, etc.  I am so excited!  I will be in touch in the next couple of days to see if we can work all this out.
