Brownie update

I hope you all had a beautiful holiday season! I'm sorry I have not been around much. It looks like a lot of the old members have taken a break from the forum too. I still lurk around, and I'm always thinking of my friends. I'm tired you all, very exhausted of keeping up the fight. I've still got a long journey ahead of me, as we all do. I went to see my gyn/onc and he did not reccommend surgery for the new tumors in/around stomach and on bowel - so that's good news. The hope is that the new chemo regimen, Gemzar and Carboplat, will shrink the tumors, or at least stop the cancer from growing. I start Jan 7th. I'm not sure what to expect, but from what I hear, this is a tolerable combo. Anyway, I'm hoping we all have a wonderful 2009 filled with love, good health, and friendhship. With love. Deandra

Deandra,
It is so very good to hear from you! And yes, I think that we all know what you mean when you speak of fatigue. It just never seems to go away does it?
I hope that you were able to enjoy the holidays.
I have been away recently, just dealing with some new emotions that I thought were long past. But I still think of you and everyone else everyday. Hopefully I can get through this low spot and be back to normal soon.
My next chemo is on the 5th. Sounds llike a lot of us have our week ahead already planned out. I wish you the very best.
  Love Chris

We all love you, Deandra.  We're sending you all of our prayers that this combo will kill the nasty critters.  Once and for all!

Oh.  And, if you lose your hair, I know this *wonderful* hairdresser in Boulder who can give you beautiful cuts and shapings as it grows back in. Oh wait.  She's YOU!

Love you and all that.  Lemme know how I can help.

Hey Sweetie,

I guess no surgery is a good thing.  I wish you amazing luck on the new combo.  I have done both, but not together (although now I am on the Doxil with the Carbo) so you know where to find me if you have any questions.  I have found that the flu thing with the carbo has been just like it was the first time around.

I hate it that we have this awful fatigue at a time when we need to be at our best to fight this never ending nitemare.  I think that is what is going on with a lot of the older members.  We are all just overwhelmed with tired and to many years of this. Maybe we need a cyber party to get everyone back together.

My next chemo is the 6th and it will be the 4th one of this combo and he said that is how long it takes to know if it is working.  My CA only came up by 50pts last month as opposed to the 100 or so it has been so he said it might be reaching it's peak.

You are loved so much by so many people Deandra and we are all here for you. Cory sends a hug. Say hi to your mom for me.
Love,
Jan

Deandra,  It is good to hear from you.  I think of you often and send good thoughts your way.  Last Christmas I was in the hospital, and dealing with just finding out that I had OvCa.  This Christmas I was pretty excited to be healthy enough to help with clean up after Christmas dinner:)  I am doing well, staying level at 8.  I hope that the new regimine is very toleralble and that you can live your life with some normalcy.  I will be waiting to hear some good news.  Love, Kerry
