Chronic Pain in Pelvis 2 years after diagnosis

Hi everyone,  I am new.  I was diangosed with Stage 1c ovarian cancer in 2007 at the age of 32 and thought I was one of the very lucky ones who was in remission.   Well...I am really worried right now because I seem to be having very bad pain in my right side and it reminds me of the past when I had my ovarian cancer.  I do not know if I should go in a month earlier than my normal 3 month (which is hard to do because my dr. is sooooo busy) or is it something else causing my pain.  This may be unrelated (due to my out of shape self) but last weekend I went bike riding with my family and I became very nauseated and vomitted.  I am concerned because I have been pretty active my whole life and never had these symptoms.  It would help me to hear any of your thoughts on this situation.  I am soooo very worried and realize there is really nothing I can do  but I am super stressed out with this.

Get yourself to a doctor now .. either your GYN/ONC (and make sure they know exactly what's been happening when you call) .. or at least, your PCP.  Hopefully it is nothing to do with cancer, but your peace of mind is THE most important part in staying well.  It really doesn't matter what your staging was at diagnosis ... you know the disease you are dealing with and need to take care of YOU first.  God Bless You with whatever is to come.  Judy

Hi, I don't have cancer but wanted to say that if your pain is so bad that you vomited and/or got very fatigued I think you should call your doctor to tell them.  Even though they are busy they can still get you in.  You don't want to go another month with the pain the way it is.  And, you'll probably worry the entire time.

I'm sorry it's happening all over again after so long.

Hi Gail, Yes, I did have a total abdominal hysteretomy which took my cervix, omentum, appendix and nodes.  I also had 6 rounds of carbo plat chemo (la bit ater than normal) and thought this was OVER.  Yes, my dr. is a gynecologic oncologist and I am being seen at a major teaching hospital. The thing is...I was first told I was stage 3 until the final pathology report came back as staged 1a...only to learn it was in fact 1c.  First, I thought I was staged 1a only to learn that my tumor ruptured during surgery.   My path report is filled with notes of how I had growths on my bladder, etc. and yet then I was diagnosed with Stage 1.  I remember severe symptoms (pain, urgency etc.) for at least six months before I had surgery.   Honestly, I though a miracle had happened.  I keep trying to tell myself that it is due to something else.  I am now just beside myself because I am in lots of pain and I know it isn't right.  I can't tell where the pain is located. My entire abdomen is sore when I push on but the pain isn't able to be located. As far as my profile, I did fill out the profile as far as I know how to fill it out???  Please advise if something is missing.   I just am wondering if anyone had a recurrence and had these types of symptoms.  I am just scared and frustrated!  Thanks for your response.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum.  I suppose it's a bad way to actually "meet", but we're glad you're here.  First off, don't beat yourself up for being worried.  It's only natural.  This is one of those diseases that keeps you on your toes.  Sometimes if I hiccup, I think it has something to do with cancer!  Peace of mind is everything, so if you can get in to see your doctor any sooner, it would be worth it.  If you can't, can you see your primary care physician?  If he/she thinks there is something there, they can order the proper scans, too.  Did you have chemo when you were diagnosed?  What about surgery?  If so, what was removed?  Is your doctor a GYN/ONC?  At this point, it really could be anything, which you realize.

I'd like to encourage you to fill out your profile and let us know a little about you.  It's easier to answer questions when we have a little info.  It's also easier to touch base with someone who had the same experience as you, same stage, etc.

Best wishes to you, and hope to hear from you again soon.

Gail
