at first my gyn just made a diagnosis based on my symptoms. she sent me to a lab to have blood work done, and she said the results "clearly" showed pcos (which i think is bull because i read that if i had something else there is a possibility that my blood could show the same results as if i had pcos).... but she didn't do anyhting else to confirm or double check.
i saw this gyn (literally) just 2 times.she gave me a prescription for metformin 500mg and told me to go to an endocrinologist, who put me on 800mg. i saw this endocrinologist (mostly students which again i think is bull) a few times. my periods never went normal, and by the time he wanted to run blood work i was 18 with no insurance or money to pay for anything.
now that i have insurance and some money i made an appointment at johns hopkins and the day before is when i asked the sonographer to do a quick look.
heres a link to one of the ultrasound pictures:

so my plan now is to make an appointment with my new gyn/endocrinologist, talk to her about my issues, get a referral for an official ultrasound, and deal with the results.
thanks for everything!!
A Sonogram should be read either by the GYN or a radiologist. Please contact the GYN directly and ask the GYN about the cyst. If you feel like you are still not getting a good answer, then perhaps you could see another doctor.
It probably is nothing, but, you want it checked to be certain. How did they diagnosis you with PCOS without any sonograms? How are they treating the PCOS?

Hi,
Welcome.
If you are not happy with anything that you have been diagnosed with, then DO go to another doctor. In my opinion a sonographer is only (no disrespect intended) the technician, so you should be going to a GP or a gynecologist to get this properly assessed.
Best of luck to you, and this is definitely the right place to come to be informed about these issues.
Peace...Kim
