Hot Flashes After Ovarian Cancer

Why do I have hot flashes and night sweats after having a COMLETE Hysterectomy and chemo.  I am not on any type of hormones and cannot take any.  Therefore, I do not understand what could be causing hot flashes.

Do breasts generate hormones?  I am 54 years old and 1 1/2 years post surgery-1 year post chemo....WHY DO I HAVE HOT FLASHES?

It does not make sense to me.  I need a common sense answer.

I had surgical menopause at 51 last year.  I am having horrible hot flashes.  Try magnesium.  Or my blood pressure was going up and my Dr prescribed a RX Catapres which is known to help with hot flashes.  Mine have been cut in half.  Not good but better than before!

Once they removed your ovaries, you entered menopause.....one of the symptoms of menopause are hot flashes.

They say Vit D can help with hot flashes, but, nothing has helped me.  I cannot take hormone replacement either.

There are certain foods that I find make the hot flashes worse, such as caffine, alchol and carbs.

What you are going through is very normal.
