new to message board

Hi to everyone, I've been reading this message board for months now, but unable to post because my Apple computer won't let me, don't understand why and we've tried everything.so i'm in my adult community's clubhouse using their pc. Let me first say you are an amazing, compassionate group of ladies and I'm glad to be able to read the information you post to help each other. I'm stage 3C, BRCA 2 positive, OVCA which has metastasized to the lymph nodes. Misdiagnosed of course for 6 months until my GYN routine appointment in  April 2007,  where he felt a cocoanut size mass. Surgery, carbo/taxol chemo, 3-4 month remission and now Topotecan since June 2008. Ca125 drops a few points every month and my lymph nodes have shrunken, so thankfully it's working for me. The chemo is not as bad as the first chemo, fatigue, hemoglobin and rbc issues, constipation are the side affects iIm dealing with. I'm so glad to be able to finally connect with you, it's a wonderful support group. I'll read you at home, Take care of yourselves, feel good. Jane

Hi Jane,
I am glad that you found us! Even though you could not contact us, at least you knew that you had somewhere you could go. And now that you are here, welcome. I am just sorry that we all had to meet under the circumstances that we did. But as Pam said, you have found one of the best groups of gals in the world.
I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis, but glad that things seem to be working for you.
We are here whenever you need us.

HI Jan, I tried Cirella's suggestion re Firefox, and it worked! Thanks for your suggestion for constipation, my oncology nurse suggested Miralax and it's great. I also take 2 Colace and a glass of prune juice. My medical oncologist said the next step would have been a stick of dynamite. Glad that wasn't necessary! Take care of yourself, and feel good. Jane

Hi Jane and welcome. I would like to offer a possible solution for the Mac problem.  I have Safari but needed to download Firefox to do my banking.  There is a Mac version of Firefox and the download is very easy.  If you haven't already, you may try that.

Sorry to read about your dx and hope you're feeling well today.

So sorry to hear this and that you are not able to connect with us more often.  You should try to fix that as you do need the support that only a place like this can offer.  I had horrible fatigue with the Topo.  On the manufacturer's website it said that 70% of patients suffer SEVERE fatigue and they weren't lying.
As for the constipation try Miralax twice a day.  It has no flavor so you can drink it with anything and it doesn't give you that gassy bloated feeling. You will of course be on my prayer list.
