What should I do?

I am 37 years old with no prior cysts. I had my tubes banded over 12 years ago and have never had any problems. In the past year my monthly cramps have gotten worse. To the point of not being able to move and doing lamas breathing to help with the pain. No pain meds help either. And then the cramping just seemed to stay even after my period. A heavy feeling in my right lower pelvis and aching pain deep inside that goes to my back. It hurts ALL the time! Some times worse than others. Now this pain has stayed for the past 3 or 4 months now. I had a ct scan that showed nothing. A uterine biopsy that came back fine (no endometrioses) and a transvag ultrasound that revealed a 1.7 cm hemorrhagic cyst. The Dr. told me that the cyst was too small to be the cause of my pain, that it will go away on its own and gave me a supply of Nora-Be birth control. I will not be taking this birth control as it has the same hormone as the depo shot which really messed up my hormones and caused me to bleed non stop. I personally think the cyst is the cause of my pain. I find it strange that I've had not issues for many years and then all of a sudden now I have pain, nausea, and insomnia. Should I be more concerned about this cyst because it has been causing pain for so long? Would a second opinion be worth it? I just don’t know what to do.

I go for a second opinion tomorrow. I hope she lstens to me better than the other doc and doesn't just put me on bc.

If its due to hormonal changes, wouldnt it make sense to do bloodwork checking my hormone levels? I would think anyway.

I'm glad that you can rule out things, but I would certainly go talk to a new gyn. I think that you might get some where with it. I hope that all goes well!

Thank you so much! My doc said the biopsy was for endo and that I don't have the symptoms for it like heavy bleeding. I really don't like that doc and have decided to go for a second opinion and find a different gyn.

My pain is mainly on my right side. Goes to my lower back (when pain is really bad) and can become extremely bloated. It also goes under my right rib cage. Had my gallbladder removed 2 years ago so i know it is not that.

This sounds like endometriosis if pain is unexplained and will not go away. The only way to diagnose endometriosis is through an exploratory surgery. Endometriosis grows outside of the uterus on organs in the abdominal cavity. This can cause severe pain or no pain at all. It will not show in an x-ray, CT scan, Biopsy, or Ultrasound. A cyst could cause pain if it is twisted and cutting off blood supply.  This rarely happens on anything small. I would try getting a second opinion on this.  My best bet though is endometriosis.

I hope your pain gets better soon!
