My Dr. sent me for an MRI since they couldnt see my left ovary from the vaginal ultrasound. They saw a 2.5 on right side on ultriasound, when they did the MRI they found a 5.0 they were both complex.
I had pain on both my left and right side as well as my back. Since I just had them both removed my back pain has deminished.
Did you have your follow up u/s? What was the result and what treatment if any will you need?
Thank you for the comments. I had another vaginal ultrasound and this time they were able to see the right ovary and everything looked good--the complex cyst was gone.
The doctor believes endometriosis is causing the pain on my right side and back. She put me back on Yaz (birth control). I was on Yaz for several years to control the severe PMS symptoms I was having. I got off PMS last summer when I turned 50 because I wanted to get an accurate reading of my hormone levels which are normal. It seems like once I got of Yaz I started having these problems--complex cyst, pain,
etc. I've heard some horror stories about Yaz--women having strokes but my doctor assured me it was safe to take.
If this doesn't work then the doctor is recommending a laparoscopy and perhaps removing the endo and maybe ovary---depends on what they see.
