Well guys I went for surgery on Monday! Went down to theatre at 1pm and was back up onto the ward at 5.30. Had it done laproscopic. Three incisions, a tiny one on the left a bit of a larger one in my tummy button and about a 3cm cut on the right side. Drained away a pint and a half of junk from cyst before removing it and also my right Fallopian tube as it had twisted and become damaged. Was allowed out of hospital on Tuesday late afternoon. Still in quite a bit of pain and becoming very restless sitting around all day. Cant stand on my feet for to long as pain becomes to much. I think it is actually lack of sleep that is getting to me more. I just want to curl up on me stomach (the normal way I sleep) but not able to because of stitches. But all in all I really don't think it was as bad as I was thinking it was going to be. Thanks for all the support and help x
I felt all twisting yesterday. I'm having to stay at my folks house...cuz i have three young children. And i have been putting off going to a n e cuz my partner died there of a brain heamorage four years ago there. I'm going to the doctors tomorrow morning. But i am seriously considering going. Its just my dads not well enough to be left on his own with the kids so i'm gonna try and hang on till tomorrow x the twisting pains are awful and i'm taking strong painkillers n its not going. I was checked for this three years ago but they can lay undetected. The last few weeks its just getting unbearable x thankyou x
i think you should go to the E.R asap just to be safe large cyst can cause your uterus to twist and because of that it might rapture which will cause so much pain
Hi..i've been in pain now in my pelvic area for a few yrs. I look nine months pregnant and i am in constant agony everyday and night now. All the symptoms are looking at ovarian cysts and my docs booked me in for an ultrasound..but the pains non stop now. And i'm getting some runny juices coming from my vagina tonight. I can't settle with the pain. No painkillers work...i'm really scared..
oh :) good luck on your surgery i know how you feel about being scared dont wory about it too much just make your self strong try to stretch a little... so you wont have such a hard time post-op :)
I don't go in till monday lot12
how was your surgery? hope everything went well:)
Don't cancel your surgery. I lost my left ovary due to a cyst that had ruptured, and I bled internally for three days without knowing until it became a life-threatening situation. There is more to life than work.
Yeah it bloody hurts but need the pennies! Yeah it is all lifting and bending down. No possible way of getting around any of the lifting as all of the jobs at work involve running round stupid all day lifting heavy things! I'm lucky because of being there so long and never have being off I am entitles to 12 weeks on sick full pay but don't want to let anybody down as we short staffed as it is!
It took me a couple weeks until I wanted to do things like cook or chores. I work at a desk all day and just sitting hurts because of where the surgery is, regular pants will hurt to wear for a while (yoga pants are good). I'd take at least a couple weeks off if you're really lifting things and physical. Everybody is different, I've seen people say they were back at work a day or two later, some take weeks. At least standing you won't be in a bent positional all day. Is there anything you can do at work that doesn't involve lifting?
I wouldn't be able to do your job with a cyst that size. When I had surgery last year mine was only about 5cm and I couldn't lift the laundry basket without it hurting.
Had blood taken and all clear! Dr did say some stuff but aint got a clue what he actually said! Was to shocked and scared
That is a large cyst, about 5.5- 6 inches ( I think)....Has your Dr. not told you how long it would take to recover? You should call your Dr. and ask more Questions. Are they sending you to get any blood work done? Do they think its cancer? I would call....sometimes, they tell us all of this at once, and we are so scared that we go into some kind of shock.....and dont hear a word they are saying.....screw the boss, your health is more important....call your Dr. He\she will be able to answer your questions...but keep me posted!
