I'm very sorry that your period arrived but don't give up - now you know when your cycle day 1 is so you can start fresh....stay positive!

If you're getting spotting and you're 5 days late but have had negative pregnancy tests, most likely your period is starting late. Generally implantation spotting is one or two light spots of blood in your underwear or on the toilet paper, and it doesn't increase. With both pregnancies I had it, and it was barely noticeable.

Symptoms do not mean anything; plenty of symptoms "of pregnancY' can be caused by other things...so I wouldn't go by that. And implantation bleeding should occur about 3-7 days before your period is due, so having implantation bleeding 5 days after your period is due to start is unlikely. I would give it another week or two to see if your period starts and then make an appointment with an OBGYN. if you are trying to conceive I would go ahead and get a full physical to make sure everything is ready for pregnancy, if you aren't pregnant and if you are - well, then they can let you know and get you started.

good luck!
