Hey, my name is Taylor. I'm 19 years old and I do know how my body works but I am having symptoms of bloating, hard stomach when I push on it. I'm sort of constipated but I'm able to have a bowel movement. I'm having discharge that is more heavy than normal. I'm not having the "usual" symptoms like tenter breasts, morning sickness or unusual cravings but I am worried. I've been with my boyfriend for almost 4 years and we had sex the 4th of July and it had been a week I was off my period, and we didn't use protection.  I'm just a little worried, I'm not ready for this but I won't know Untill I take an at home test or a blood test. I just want some advice from an older figure.

Ashn99....if you and this boy only dry humped, meaning (all clothes on) then you have absolutely nothing to worry about, you can't always rely that your period will come the same day of every month, periods can become irregular. I'm 23yrs old and i have missed my period for 2 months so over time as you get older you will learn to understand what your period is all about. I lost my virginity when i was 16 and i regretted that so much, even though we used a condom I was still worried that I would be pregnant, because even with protection you can still get pregnant, but because I was stressing so much over it because i was only 16, still living with my parents and a sophmore in high school, well that stress delayed my period which is what your probably doing, stop stressing and stop thinking about it and your period will come, just remember drink lots and lots of water so it eases your cramps. Oh and Ashn99 if you ever want someone to talk to about anything, anything at all, I won't judge you can email me personally at ***@**** me I know what your going through and if you ever need advice just email me :-)

Hey Hanna, like I said to the original poster, I am not here to judge anyone, just to help if I can with any questions that come up.  Since you are new to having your period, I will explain a few things for you.

The first day of your period is your cycle day 1 and lasts until the day before you have your next period.  Ovulation will occur around the half way mark of your cycle.  For instance, I have a 30 cycle and ovulate around day 18 and 19.  In order to become pregnant, you need to have had intercourse around the time that you are ovulating, but also know that sperm can live inside the vagina for up to 5 days.

With the information that you gave, there is no way that you are pregnant as you had sex at the end of your cycle and not in the middle.

I am also going to ask, I know that you used a condom, but condoms are not always the best source of birth control.  I am going to suggest maybe going on the pill, depo, or an IUD along with using a condom.

Good luck to you!

I am just curious on how your pregnancy test turned out?

for the most accurate resuts, you need to take the test with your first urine of the day.  This way your urine isn't diluted and will be able to pick up on the hormones (you HCG levels) that tell your body that your are pregnant.

If you are pregnant, please know that you are going to need more than just your friend beside you.  You will need to tell the father, and maybe try to talk to your mom.  And if you need someone for answers and questions, I am always here as well.

You want to take the test with your first pee of the day because it is most concentrated with the pregnancy hormone. If you can't do that, you need to hold your pee for at least 4 hours. With most test you hold it under your flow of urine for 6 or 7 seconds while you pee than lay it flat for a few minutes before reading the results. If there are two lines (even if one is lighter than the other) you are pregnant, only one line and you are not.

I am not on MH to judge, but to assist where I can, but with you stating that you are too young says to me that you know that you shouldn't be having sex.  The only way to never getting pregnant, is never having sex until you are ready, and until you think you will be able to raise a baby if and when that time comes.

Now, for you thinking you might be pregnant... When did your period start in February?  I am just curious to know because that will give me an indication on when you would have been ovulating.  Also, were you due to have your period around the time that you spotted?  The dates for implantion and when you had sex, don't really match up to me as it will happen anywhere from 6-12 days after ovulation.  I am going to say that you aren't pregnant, but the only way for you to be sure is to take a home pregnancy test (not a cheap dollor store one please) or see a doctor and get some blood work done.

Good luck to you and please be careful as it only takes one time for you to become pregnant.
