39 week check up..disappointed!

So I went in today for my 39 week check up. My midwife asked if I would like her to sweep my membrane which would give me a 50% chance of going into labor. I said heck ya! Well when she went to check me, I wasn't even dialated or effaced at all! I'm so disappointed that I'm not even a tiny bit dialated, I've heard horror stories about being induced and do not want to have to go through that. Anyone have any home inductions that worked for them? Or at least how to help with dialtion?

Being induced isn't bad as long as your dr knows what they are doing and works with your body instead of rushing it. I have had three inductions and none of mine were bad at all. :-)

I just had my lil man 16 days ago. I wasn't dialated at all at 39 weeks. I was disappointed too, but started having contractions the day before he was due and ended up having him on my due date so don't give up hope:)

I was told to take two to three orally a day. But I read that you can also insert them. Does that make it work faster?!

Evening primrose oil helps with softening the cervix not just for labor so that's definitely something to try :)

Its frustrating. I've tried walking, sex, hot baths...nothing has worked or helped. They haven't even made me have contractions! My midwife told me I could start drinking raspberry leaf tea and taking evening primrose oil which I picked up and started tonight. But what ive read is they just help with labor not starting it. I just want to see some progress by the time I have my 40 week appointment!

I got the same news today too... I have to wait a week to be induced... They say sex is the best method

Im having the same problem and idk what to do. Im really disappointed that my body isnt doing what it is supposed to do and ive tried everything and im not making any progress :(
