Has anyone had "Cholestasis of pregnancy" or other intense itching?

Has anyone had this?  Or know anyone who has? or know anything about it?  I found a bunch of data and studies and stuff, but I will feel a lot better if i hear from real people who've been through it.  How bad was it and when did they deliver you and stuff like that...

I'm a nervous wreck waiting on the tests... :-(

I itch like mad and it's getting worse, it's keeping me up at night sometimes now, my legs are shredded all up and down, and now i'm starting to scratch my arms off too.  There is no rash, except for the abrasions caused by the scratching.  It's so weird.

Anyone else have this?

Hey,sorry it took me long to answer you.I have been feeling under the weather lately!! And guess what?!! I got diagnosed with Cholestasis AGAIN.Ugh,now I have to wait til Monday because I had a midwife but since they told me I have Cholestasis now I have to see a high risk doctor. Getting back your question,my last pregnancy I was about 30 weekswhen I got it,NOTHING over the counter helps with the itching. It is soooo frustrating because EVERYTHING itches. Even in between my fingers,but hopefully they came up with something a lil stronger in the last 5 years,that way I won't suffer as much.I feelyour pain tough,it ***** to be 1 in a 1000 to get it. Let me know if you get any relief,I will be looking out for you as well.Good luck!

Chucky - how far along were you when the itching started?  when they induced you?

I've tried (in this order):
plain lotion
cortisone cream
cortisone spray
gold bond cream
benadryl (oral)
benadryl spray
gold bond medicated lotion (menthol)
methylprednisolone dose pack (Rx)

after the steroids didn't work and the doc saw my body and no rash other than abrasional eruptions from scratching, he said "we'll try oral steroids and if that doesn't work i think it's your gallbladder..."  i've been on the steroids since thursday and it's only gotten slowly worse, as it has been getting for almost two weeks now.  I go for blood tests tomorrow morning.  

Rose---thank you so much, sweetie---the sympathy really feels like a big hug and it helps, you're such a sweetheart!!  It's just so frustrating because i thought i loved being pregnant---i did with my son.  i was nauseous and that's it.  and i didn't mind it because it was so amazing to be pregnant.  now i'm torn----my body feels like it's falling apart, but it's still so amazing having this little person growing inside me.  

and now to top it all off, suddenly yesterday my tailbone started hurting---lol!!  i feel like i fell off a horse straight on my butt and it is so painful, it feels like it's going to snap every time i move, lol.  all i can do is laugh at this point, it's so ridiculous.  i have no clue what's causing that, all i did was bend over to pick up a paper off the floor.  i hope it's not something serious---it seems too comical to be serious, though.

so yeah, my primary concern is keeping sane but making sure my baby is ok... i wish i was further along and they could just induce and i could hold her and know she's safe.  i'm so worried she's at risk if this is cholestasis...

I had it with my son,it is unbearable!! They would do a ultrasound 3 times a week and finally they induced me. It's bad for the baby and can also cause you to get gallstones after you deliver,that's what happened to me.But all pregnancies are diffrent,maybe it's just allergies? Have you tried Bendaryl yet? I had alot of itching with this pregnancy and started taking Bendrayl and it went away!!

I get really bad itching but it comes and goes so I dont think it is nearly as severe as yours.
I hope you find some relief soon!!!  ~~~HUGS~~~~ you have had such annoying and painful, aches and pains this pregnancy, I bet you cant wait for your baby to be here.
