BV during Pregnancy!

I'm 20wks & 4 days. I have a bacterial vaginal infection & my antibiotics from my doc DID NOT WORK. Im so worried , not for myself but for the safety and health of my child . Any advice, experience or similarities can help me calm my nerves.  I heard Bv during pregnancy can cause pre-term labor and even low birth weight. I don't want to deliver too early where as thought my baby is fighting for his/her life.

I thought I had one a few weeks ago but it turned out not be. I think because there is so much discharge during pregnancy I mistook it for the start of an infection. I hate BV though! I have had it before and it is so hard to get rid of. The first time I had to take antibiotics three times, the pills then the cream then the pills again. The second time I took the pills then it came back and I decide to try a natural method. Now bear with me, this is going to sound weird! I took plain, unsweetened and unflavored, yogurt and put it in an ice cube tray. Once it was frozen I inserted one cube before bed for a week and the BV went away! The coldness actually helped too because it helps with burning and if your swollen and irritated. My aunt is a herbalist and she does everything all natural and she told me to try that. I wasn't pregnant but it's all natural so I don't see how it could hurt the baby. Also, my sister said she never had BV before but during her last pregnancy she got it four times and the dr said that pregnancy causes all kinds of ph imbalances due to hormonal fluctuations. I hope that any of this helps you! Good luck! There are alot of us who sympathize with your pain right now!

Unfortunately with mine,  I didn't have any symptoms.  My doc found out I had it through a urine sample. Now I'm getting my urine checked each visit. ..I hope the bv doesn't come back!

what I can compare it to would be thrush (yeast infection) is itchy down there alot of discharge with an odour..I have had thrush. I thought it was and turned out it was bv. bv is deffinatly more aggressive then yeast infection and can be very hard to get rid of it. some woman get it over and over. if any one thinks they have it definatly get checked. yeah I researched bv for hours pills didn't work so I went all natural!

If you go back to your doctor they should give you some cream to insert vaginally through a tampon like tube. Ive had this infection whilst pregnant too and even though its irritating its harmless to your baby. Im nearly ready to drop now so dont you worry!! :) xx

I had it. I got pregnant then tested for it and it completely disapeared. dont ask how or why but it did. I hate BV with a passion it really ruins everything self esteem sex life and can potentially harm your baby. if I was to say the only thing I did do different was eat a cup of pro biotic yoghurt. and I ate heaps of garlic. pro biotic pills keep it away. some woman live their whole lives with it. I've had a taste and I sympathise completely. its absolutly the worst!! cos alot of woman do take anti biotics and it just doesn't go away! also invest in a body wash made for your intimates it really helps keeping your ph levels balance. I didn't take any anti biotics to get rid of mine I went strickly natural!! and it disapeared and I haven't seen it in 7months. give what I said a go. keep us updated!!!

I had one around 16 weeks. The anti biotics helped me though.  Your doc should be giving you something else to clear it up. I don't know why they aren't?
