My son is almost 4 months old. If he doesn't sleep in footed pj's, I swaddle him. Not too tight because he's gotten too big to like that Lol... and he's a hot nature'd baby. He does NOT like being hot at all. Our house and room stays a comfortable temperature so I don't freak out too bad when he kicks the cover off of him. But, as long as he is lying ON the blanket and can't pull it up to his face, I'm okay. 7/10 times he's in footed pj's though. Tonight he fell asleep wearing a shirt and a diaper cover. So he's ON his blanket and it covers him that way.
No blankets!! Sleepsacks and swaddlers r safe tho!
Yes i would either do the swaddle or in my case my son hated it so i would just always buy the footed pjs so he could still move
The recommendation is no blanket until baby is able to roll over and remove the blanket on their own if it should come in contact with his/her face. Have you seen the sleep sacks? I care for infants 6 weeks-18 months and TONS of parents use these sleep sacks. There are arm holes so the blanket doesn't cover babies face. Usually we swaddle until baby starts to try to roll or is able to get their arms out, then we swaddle the body but leave arms out, and then finally move onto the sleep sacks. It helps them progress from the tightness of swaddling to the open sleeping feel.

regular Blankets aren't recommended at all. Halo sleepsacks are good. (A wearable blanket)
