Caster oil?

I'm 37w 4d the baby measures 40 weeks. I'm in terrible pain, can't ever feel my hands, I've had an amazing pregnancy up until the last couple weeks. I went to a regular dr visit yesterday and asked him if I was able to start trying to induce myself -- he said yes. He told me to try caster oil, sex and walking. I'm not dialated 'much' he said nor effaced. Sex is out of the question because my boyfriend and I live in 2 different states. I walk all the time. My question is how many people tried caster oil and it worked not being dialated much nor effaced? & what other methods did you use?

Im confused with castor oil I've heard all the horrible stories .. I've takenb it thank goodness for me it worked my concern is if it can really make your baby poop inside the womb is true why in the world would a doctor suggest for you to try it ? My doctor also suggested me to take it but this was 9 years ago ..is this new information and not all doctors are aware of this side effect idk but please dont risk it just wait it out

I know nipple stimulation is tought in school. My mom used it with one of hers.

I heard its bad cos its used a laxative,and can cause a bowel movement in baby too. Some woman lost there babys that way.

My mom had 8 kids and used it for 7 of them. She swears by it.

my friend tried it, said it tasted horrible like Carmex. I was going to try it, with me being 38 weeks but I heard it can cause your baby to poop our meconium and inhale it, which can make them very ill and possibly die. fresh pineapple slices, at least 7 a day, squats, jogging in place, dancing or "twerking" has worked lol and bouncing on an excersise ball are all I've know to actually work without harming you or the baby. I tried dancing to vanilla ice the other day and my Braxton hicks kicked in and brought me to my knees. so make sure someone is around just incase you throw yourself into labor!

My sister in law took 2oz of castor oil and ate Mexican food and boom her water broke that night. She was 36 weeks, but he was measuring big as well and came out perfectly healthy! It usually will either put you into labor or give you the runs!

i wouldn't suggest it just because it could cause your baby to have a bowel movement and they could inhale it into their lungs causing an infection and possible death....im not 100% sure on the numbers for it but its still a chance...i would how ever suggest any active activity like squats, bouncing on a labor ball, lunges, anything you can do with out exerting yourself...usually something you don't usually do or haven't done since being pregnant...it will cause the muscles around your uterus to contract and that small about of strenuous work will put your uterus in work with contractions..example my sister in law was pregnant in the winter and shoveled snow off her porch and within and hr after finishing she started having continuous contractions....

My friend used it and went into labor with no problems
I was going to but hear ur baby can poop while inside so I decided not to.
I had sex but since u said u can't try doing squats . As much as u can With holding onto a chair.

I read stories before about castor oil, and well some didn't help, its just gave them real bad diharrea, and this only girl tried it and her baby ate her poop, got an infection and later she passed away so I don't know,personally I wouldn't try it
