Newest update on TJ 9/19

Ok, well we had TJ's cardiology apptmt today, he is 6lbs 13oz now, up from his birth weight of 5'5 and the dr wants to move his surgery up to the end of next month. he feels his lungs are clear enough however he thinks the diuril isn't strong enough like the lasiks. And the lasiks is a NO go due to it causing his acidosis. He says he wants an echo in 2 weeks and by then we will have a surgery date. he anticipates 1 week in the hospital, and actually I"m glad that he'll be getting it done early simply becuase A) daddy and I will need a day to ourselves, B) it should improve his feeding ability so he won't need a gtube or NGtube either. The doctor feels its  safe and he wants to move NOW with it.

He also has a Plastibell circumcision (plastic ring around the penis) anyone deal with one before ? :What does it look like when it falls off? Let me know and I"ll email a pic to show his to ask if it's normal. It came off today after 3 days on but you have to remember our skin heals 300X faster than normal.

other than that TJ is growing, napping, and generally happy. he LOVES his swing, mobile and car rides!  Any suggestions on other nipple types for both paci's and bottles?

he was using the kind from the hospital and won't accept any others yet.

I have to hold the paci in. I think we have MAM's that we bought last night. :)  The wierd thing is my son has been perfectly happy with the breast (when I was making milk)  so you'd think he'd like other nipples. but NOPE

i'm glad to hear tj is doing well. As for the pacis and nipples soothie makes bottles and nipples my son only would use soothie.

My son loved the sothie binkis and now he will only take mam pacis! He is slightly toungetied so he cant realy keep any in but loves for me to hold it in when hes fallinf to sleep.!

Riley and I always liked the soothie paci's, they are small and soft/flexible and no odd nipple shapes for little newborn mouths :) Also means it doesn't affect teeth position when they come in, like some pacifiers.

Thanks for the update and I am so glad seems to be "moving right along!"

I don;t have any suggestions for the pacifier or bottles, but maybe the hospital will advise you? Keep us updated!! ((hugs!))
