Breast feeding vs formula?

I'm really struggling with this decision, all the benefits  of breastfeeding sound amazing. My main struggle is with being comfortable with it. Im not sure that is something I can be comfortable with and commit to. I just wanna hear your experiences or thoughts on this. Ialso want to know about my options, like a nipple shield/guard, the pump? My doctor isn't very informative, thts why I turn to you ladies (:

Well you could always pump too. It's totally up to you though and also babies don't have trouble digesting the breast milk where as formula sometimes makes them constipated

I didn't breast feed with my first but would really like to this time around. The babies get sick less and my daughter is always sick so hopefully the baby wont. Im.not comfortable with feeding in public so i plan to hopefully pump and feed out of a bottle.

It just seems uncomfortable, I don't even like my man on my boobs, lol. No one in my family breast fed for this reason, I've heard nd like all the benefits, I'm thinking of doing it for only the first 2 wks-1mnth, but then I'm worried about switching him to formula. If he's anything like his daddy he's stubborn!

Im due with my 3rd Jan 15 and bf both my boys.. Besides the benefits your baby will recieve its also great thing for you helps your body get back faster, helps your uterus contract and get back to size faster! I used Lily padz they are silicone breast pads so they are reusable and they work great! You can find them online but I actually saw them in target today for 19.00.. good luck andgive the breastfeeding a chance it can be difficult but so worth it!

I'm a ftm..just had my daughter October.9 and I'm breastfeeding...its honestly the most amazing thing...that bond you build.with your baby is undescribing feeling!! Plus to see wutp little one getting all chunky off the milk that your body produces is just wonderful :)...plus no heating up bottles means a happier baby and mommy lol...but I pump when I'm going out....some.women strictly pump....its really your personal choice....but I was against it at first but once I started it was easy as pie and I know I'm giving my daughter the best from the start..

With my first i was uneducated on breastfeeding. This pregnancy one of my nurses at the dr office is actually a lactation consultant so i am much more informed! I will be attempting to breastfeed, because it aids in weightloss, it leads to decreased ear infections, decreased risk of obesity and diabetes in baby, and its also a TON cheaper. I personally didnt like the nipple shield with my first, she refused to nurse with it on. And it was uncomfortable. You do have the option of pumping however if u choose to bf i would wait until your, supply is well established as pumping only can decrease your milk supply. I am actually looking forward to breastfeeding this one because ive heard it helps you bond better with baby! :)

I did not breast feed my 1st because my boobs hurt so bad but i really plan on doing it this time, ive heard thats its an incredible bonding experience. Try to enroll is some breast feeding classes that may give you some insite on what to expect and how to do it, they also usually have a lactating nurse that will teach you while in the hospital. Electric pumps are better than manual which can be tiresome. If you decide to i hope your experience is wonderful

I'm due in 2 week I'm a ftm, I'm going to breastfeed. I have wic and I went to a class for it and it's really beneficial. It keeps the baby healthy and reduces the risk of sids and more. Not to mention the bond you build with the baby. Can I ask why you aren't comfortable with it? Not to mention the money you save on formula. You can pump also if the act of breastfeeding is what bothers you
