Embarrassing question.....

This is really strange to me...after my midwife checked my cervix yesterday, I noticed I became really itchy and dry down there. I tried to survey the situation and it looks a little red and just a tiny bit swollen maybe. It's so irritated and hurts! It's that feeling like if I dry up when I'm having sex....only it won't go away. (DH and I have not done the deed in over 3 weeks) It's driving me nuts. It just feels really dry and yesterday I tried to put a cool washcloth down there to see if it would help. It only helped until I removed the washcloth. I'm not sure if I had some reaction to the midwife checking me or what. Maybe the gel or the gloves? But this is the 2nd time she has checked me and the first time nothing happened.
I have some poison ivy (not much) that my DH passed along to me and I noticed my belly button was really itchy and it looked like I had it in there. YUCK! That is just about gone and of course when I first noticed how dry I was down there, I immediately thought the poison ivy spread there...which would be really weird and I have no clue how that could have happened. But from what I can tell, it doesn't look like it has. It's just driving me insane more than anything. Any ideas? It's so embarrassing and I would feel stupid for calling my OB or midwife, but maybe I should if it continues. Also, I was just treated for BV 2 weeks ago (never had any symptoms and finished all my meds) Thanks girls for listening to my crazines!!!

If it doesn't clear up soon,  I am definitely calling her back to get tested. It's more of a dryness/irritation inside...it's weird. Never felt like this before really.

It is also common to get a yeast infection after being treated for BV.  That could be a possibility.

My midwife seems to think it was from the gloves. She said it sounded like a reaction you would get after that. For some reason after I was done my meds, the OB didn't want to double check to make sure it was all cleared up. I thought she would have, she said it should be fine. But I never had any symptoms for it so if they didn't check me for it, we would have never have known.

I was treated for BV while I was pregnant with my last child and after I took all the medication, I started to feel very itchy and swollen as well so they ordered me some more antibiotics and after that I was fine. Your BV may possibly not be completely cleared up.

That could be it....Because I know when DH and I have used condoms before and they sometimes make me itch a little bit, we tried a more natural one and I never had problems with those.  I have no clue if I am allergic to latex, but I guess it's a possibility. I wonder if that's all it is. I will remember not to use any soap down there when I take a shower. And yes, it's like it hurts all the way up there too sometimes. It's so strange and so annoying!!

Are you allergic to latex?? I am and when I get examed with a latex glove that's how it feels..it's like it hurts all the way up there! There really isn't much to do about it, it'll go away though in a few days. when you shower the couple of days, don't wash with anything down there...just rinse really well with warm water! and then tell them not to use latex again lol!! I hope that helps!
