lol yeah I had that happen with my first pregnancy. I sat there rubbing my stomach trying to get my son to move for 2 hrs and he wouldn't move for nothing. So I started getting worried he hadn't moved at all in a long period of time, and went to the hospital. On the way in the hospital door, I felt him kick the living daylights outta me, then start jumping around like he was throwing himself a little party in there. Still went on in and made sure everything was okay, but felt like an over-worrying moron in the process lmao.
Thanks ladies. I will eat dinner and drink some juice or a little coke and i will lay down and try to get some movements... I will let you know tomorow if he cooperates. I hate the fact that they never move when you want them too but like if you go to the hospital or the doc they are going crazy then you feel stupid... lol... kids are too smart even before they are born
Ah, so in that case.. I'd call your doctor.. if you've only felt him move twice since the dog hit you in the stomach over 3 hrs ago.
okie doke, heres what i found:
One of the most important things you can do for your unborn baby is to monitor his or her kicking and movements. The rule of thumb is you should feel your baby kick or roll at least ten times every hour. Simply pick an hour and begin counting. One kick... two... once you reach ten, if it is under an hour, you know your baby is doing well. If it has been over an hour, monitor your baby's kicking for the next hour. If after this you have not gotten the correct "ten count" for fetal kicks, call your OB/GYN.
As your pregnancy reaches the end, your baby has less room to move. You won't feel as many distinctive kicks, but should always feel the baby move at least ten times per hour. Of course, if at any time you feel like something is "not quite right," contact your OB/GYN. A mother's intuition is rarely wrong!
drink some juice or eat a snack or something and do that kick count. ill look up really quick how many kicks per hour its supposed to be but i think Crystal is right. they never move when you want them to! after that though i would agree and go to L&D if hes not kicking around enough
Hmm, well I'm sure the baby is fine, but have you been doing a fetal kick count? If he's normally active and isn't now I'd probably call my doctor and discuss it with her/him. I think fetal kick count is 10 movements within 4 hrs? I might be mistaken. But if it's been 3 hrs then I'd wait another hour and see if he moves a few more times after you try things that would normally make him move. If he doesn't move even then, I'd call your doctor at least just to be safe and see if they might want you to go down to L&D. My motto with pregnancy because I'm also paranoid lol, is better safe than sorry.
