Government assistance

Something I don't want to do but something I might consider times are very hard, I just have a few questions... Please no negitive comments!
-my bf is currently working he works mon-fri 8:30-5:00 making $10 hr and gets paid weekly around $360 will we qualify for assistance?
-I have a 7 year old from a previous relationship so would I get any assistance for her? My current bf has been taking care of both of us for the past 3 years.
-our rent is 1200 we live with his parents & his sisters so him and his dad split bills and rent which leaves us with bearly enough for food, and there is 8 of us in this house?
-I just don't know if their is a income you can't pass to apply or how does that work?
Is anyone else on this program? Cash aid/food stamps?
I've been working since I was 18, & now that I'm prego it's very hard to find a job I'm 5 months and showing a lot, I know they say even if your prego people will hire but common so not true!!!!!!!

Yes.. but when u apply they specifically ask who the father is :-/ so if ur approved for it now once the baby is here they already have him in the system. All u can do is ask and apply hun

In Minnesota, I was approved for food stamps and WIC but denied for cash assistance because of my parent's income. Living with them again, pregnant at 23, is a burden enough and apparently they assume my parents should help out with everything, financially. Plus, I got my car repo'd so there's no way for me to get to a job. Minnesota is known for it's welfare. I don't see why I can't get temporary assistance when some other people get it, without question. Especially the one's who've never paid taxes before!

Problem is California thinks if you ask for cash aid they can go after father or man on birth certificate since they assume that is the father and they will go after him for money since they think he is responsible to financially support child. Ur not married either so they would want him to pay child support or pay the government back. Im married so they would just deny us. My husband brings in almost 2300 every 2 weeks. I dont know who to call to just ask these questions because u have to have a worker to speak with someone yet I just want to ask the basic questions. My husbands ex when they were together applied for wic and they asked about father they were together and wic opened a child support case against him but didnt end up paying because they were a couple

well my fiancé is the only one working, he makes 400/ week with overtime, 310 if not. but we got denied Medicaid. I think its kind of bull. but I re applied and I think I got it this time, they just like to mess around and wait half your pregnancy to do anything about it.

Im in a similar situation I also live in California... and I get food stamps. Well Im now married and I have to put him on paperwork. I am not asking for cash aid because my husband makes way to much but literally not enough for food because he pays every bill on his own and pays child support for two previous kids. Im scared they will cut me off completely tho. I do know one thing. If you apply for cash aid in cali and you have the father/man sign birth certificate the government automatically goes after the man for child support.

It doesn't matter if hes not the father of your first child she can still get medical insurance and so can you because you are currently pregnant. If you are or over the age of 22 then you can put yourself your child and him on the benefits case and just add the other people as people who live there and they'll go off of what you and your boyfriend make only  Its complicated to explain through a message but I hope this kinda helped?

Yes I am currently on wic,
I'm in California I asked a friend and she said I would have to add him to my case because we live together and if we didn't I would have to get him on child support?
She told me that if I tell the worker that I prepare my own meals and not include everyone but me him and my daughter we might but maybe not because of his income, but since he isn't the father of my daughter I will get assistance for her...
I've put her dad on CS when she was around 2 and I have not revived ONE PENNY from him, he's always working under the table so nothing I can prove?

If i was in your shoes. What i would do is apply for state housing and state assistant.

What i remember....its been awhile.

(ALSO EACH STATE IS DIFFERENT, ITS BEST TO CONTACT SOMEONE WHO WORKS WITH ASSISTANCE IN YOUR STATE).

You can get wic now. That will help with a little bit of fruit, dairy, and a few dry products. That will also help when the baby comes. formula and baby food, Food states goes off how much is brought into the house and how many people. I have no idea how the money assistances goes.

You can always apply by yourself with your child that should give you a better chance of qualifying for food stamps since your technically not married you don't have to include him.

Go apply for WiC which will help with milk, bread, cheese, cerearl, fruits & veggies. Thats what I currently have & its helped out alot. You can also apply for food stamps which can help you out alot idk if you would qualify because its a large household with more then one peraon with a job/career you might make to much but honestly it doesnt hurt to try.
