39+2 weeks ftm, I woke up from a nap a couple of hours ago and  ive been feeling these light period pains and a little pressure around the vaginal area and lower abdominal and sometimes the pain moves to my lower back, could they be contractions starting? I have an appointment tomorrow but last time they checked me i was 1cm.

I have had the same pains and I am 39 weeks pregnant and 2 cm dilated. My doc said they aren't real contractions but the pains are preparation for real labor! It's a good sign!

I've tried drinking water, laying on my sides, walking, but they arent going away, and the baby is moving here and there, I'm just waiting for them to be more intense..

Sounda like it could be early labor. But no need to worry abouy going in until their 3-5 minutes apart and lasting at least a minute long foe an hour.

I'm in the same boat right now. Hubby ans I had sex a few hours ago and right after I've been experiencing period like pains and back pains. I asked him to go for walk with me but he's tired and keeps turning lights off and not helping me at all. It keeps coming and going. But it's like every few minutes but unevenly so I'm assuming false labor. I'm almost 38 weeks and havemt gone through any of this kind of pain. I'm hoping if I take a nap or lay down it'll stop.

They come and go about every 20 minutes, but they aren't really as painful.. its just a light pain and its confusing me.
