question about babies fathers

I'm 25 weeks pregnant and me and my fiance are really excited. But he had to move away for school for a few months. Hell be back end of augist. And I know he's happy and excited but sometimes it doesn't seem like it I guess its because he's so fat away. I talk to my baby all the time and rub my belly and I already have a close bond with him but when I tell my man to talk to him or something he's totally un interested and thinks it doesn't mean anything. He's not a very sensitive guy so I was jist wondering wi he loosen up once my son is born? Like I've heard the expression dads don't become dads until they see the baby I was wondering (from someone experienced) if that was true? Thanks alot

They say a mother becomes a mommy when she gets pregnant but a father doesn't become a daddy til the baby's born. Men aren't usually very sentimental during this time, especially this early in pregnancy (im just a week ahead of you) because it still doesn't seem... REAL... to them yet. See... we bond with the baby cause we can feel the flutters and kicks... we go to all the dr appointments and have to take care of the fetus but they just see our bellies getting bigger. He should come around when you get really big or as soon as your baby is born... .. you should still talk to him about how youre feeling though.

Yea that's what I figured. And the distance isn't helping especially since I'm crazy and hormonal. I do talk to.him about it but he always says the same thing. He's gonna be home for the last month of my pregnancy so ill be real big. So hopefully he can start being a little more sensitive. You'd think it would still feel real to them because of the sonogram pictures

Has he felt the baby move yet? Maybe it will get more real for him as you get bigger and he can feel/see the baby moving. My boyfriend didn't really like talking about me being pregnant in the early months. But once he felt the baby move at about 18 Weeks, he acted way different, started kissing my belly, rubbing it, and talking to our son. Guys take longer to realize what's going on!!.lol
