Mucus Plug

I'm having all the signs for labor, besides my mucus plug. Do you have to have your mucus plug before labor. 36 weeks with diarrhea, back pain, and nausea

Thank you all for replying, bits of my mucus plug is coming out today. Very crampy and having diarrhea. Just don't feel myself, maybe labor is coming soon. Went to the doctor yesterday and I'm 3/5cm dilated

Personally with my first I'm not even sure if I lost my mucus plug when I went in to labor

Sounds like you may have ingested something to cause that. While back pain labor is real, you would still feel tightening all around and contractions would come every 10 minutes or closer lasting 30secs or longer. If you do think you are in labor then go to the doctor anyways to get checked out because while 36 weeks is fine it's still a little early for labor. Also if it is a stomach thing you don't want to get too dehydrated if you have diarrhea and nausea. That can lead to BH contractions which could spur early labor so try and stay hydrated.
I didn't lose my mucus plug until 39w4d and even then didn't have my son until 40w2d. Some women don't even lost it until in active labor.

With your wording, yes, everyone has a mucus plug.

You could've lost bits and pieces or the whole thing without knowing it. Go get checked. Hopefully it's not labor since baby might not be truly developed. Could be you ate something off too...
