Its nice ro hear u had a positive experience. I hope to deliver naturally/drug free so i am a bit scarred about labor and pain. But i am going to be attending birthing classes so hopefully it will help with pain management.
Y'all were lucky! My epidural didn't work, and they tried 5 medications and repositioned the epidural twice. Nothing can prepare you for that agony though. I had postpardum almost immediately after giving birth. It was kinda scary because it just came on all of a sudden. I was so angry that i lost two babies, had a difficult pregnancy and was high risk the entire time, and my labor was awful. My little man is celebrating his third birthday today, and we are expecting baby #2 in 6 weeks!
I feel the same way!!! The pregnancy tmfelt like forever and even tho it was my third baby... I started thinking of everything that could go wrong!!! I didn't tear, lil man was out in three pushes and its only been a week and im barely bleeding!! Me ans my husband ars doing great!! I know some ppl have bas experiences.. but its def not as bad as ppl make it out to be.
PPD can kick in a little later and it is good to know some signs to look for. The tiredness does catch up with you when the adrenaline wears off and this is when things get more tricky. Everyone's tired and stress can kick in, arguements can start easily because of this. My partner and I are just getting over this wee hump and my baby is nearly 10wks old and has been sleeping through the night since 5wks so we do well sleep wise. We are really close, but were both kicking off quicker than usual, just through tiredness (we have 2 other kids to deal with too).
You're absolutely right about the labour bit. Its great to be educated and know your options, but there is no sense stressing as we have ultimately very little control over it all!
Really glad that you're feeling good, I just wanted to add the PPD bit for anyone else who reads it to know that while there's no point stressing over it beforehand, it is worth knowing the signs just in case as it often starts very subtley :)
