membrane sweep

Ill be 40 weeks Friday & have an appt for a membrane sweep Thursday. Is this painful & is it effective? Hoping it'll help!

Good luck and let us know how you get on. Dunno how true it is but ny midwife said they're effective about one in eight times..my seventh worked at least...you could always ask to have another one a few days later x good luck :D

It's uncomfortable and can hurt a bit depending on who you are but is no where near as painful ad labour. You will be fine hun I had seven in my last pregnancy! Just see it as it might be he job that helps baby arrive cc

Its uncomfortable like getting a smear test but not painful. I've had it done twice and had both my kids within 24hrs. I've always been overdue when its been done.
