That's exactly what I am experiencing Joy! Maybe this will just be a pregnancy full of aches and pains! I already told my husband I am so ready to have this baby and I'm only 20 weeks! lol Maybe because I am having a girl. Things are so different this time around than with my boys.
Girl I'm so serious. I had this exact pain with Abby and I even wrote about it in her in journal (I keep a journal during my pregnancies) and I couldn't even lift my feet a few inches to put rest them on a stool when sitting on the couch. No hip or pelvis dislocation but definitely rule that out just in case (everyone is diff.). I think it was just how my Abigail was laying. I had horrible sciatic pain with her as well. Definitely my most painful pregnancy.
Maybe that's what it is Joy. It's so strange. I have noticed this pattern now on the rare occasions that I take tylenol. There must be something about it.
I wonder sometimes if it's just the position of the baby that is causing these pains. I stayed in bed all day and thankfully Jeremiah had fun talking to me and watching a movie with me. He helps me so much and he's not even 3 yet.
angela, thank you! I am hoping the doc appt goes well, I don't suspect an infection but I would rather be on the safe side since with my last pregnancy I had several infections. Just want to rule these things out.
The tylenol is new and has only happened in this pregnancy. I have never gotten sick from it before, pregnant or not. I'm kind of baffled. I will bring it up to the nurse tomorrow. But for now, I will stop taking it.
I hope you feel better soon, Chantal! I'm sure you just pulled some muscles...with all that stretching going on, it's bound to happen I guess. I actually got a weird pelvic pain yesterday twice when I sat on the toilet on one side of my pelvis...I couldn't even pee comfortably and then it felt like a muscle ache for several minutes after I got up. Very strange...anyways, I hope all goes well at the doctor tomorrow and I hope you can get some rest tonight at least! Oh, and that is really strange about the tylenol...does that only happen when you are pregnant?
Sometimes our body will dispel of things that could potentially harm our baby so perhaps your body is telling you that Tylenol is not for baby.
I had super horrible pain like that when pregnant with Abigail (my second-born). I had to use a step stool to get into bed and I would get these shooting pains if I tried to lift my legs up to the bed or to get into the tub, etc. I think her head was just causing me grief (she was head-down).
For some reason, every time I take tylenol, I get sick to my stomach. The last time I took it, I threw up within an hour or two and was super nauseous from it another time. This time I had horrible acid reflux and almost threw up. Why would tylenol (the only thing I can take) be affecting me like this? Hopefully tomorrow's appt. will be easy and uneventful. Still having this pelvic pain...it's a little bit better, but not much. :(
Well I called the OB and they are busy so they got me in first thing tomorrow morning. They are going to make sure I don't have an infection and I guess to check my cervix. I have to be there at 8:30am...I hate getting up early lol
I also e-mailed my midwife, she just delivered a baby, so she is probably exhausted, that's why I just called the OB instead of her. I also e-mailed my doula/nurse friend. Still waiting to hear back from them.
I wouldn't be surprised if I strained my pelvis in some way. I am hoping it's not some sort of infection.
Amy, Thanks! It's very uncomfortable. Hubby tried stretching my legs while I laid on the floor...that was painful! And it didn't relieve anything. So I took 2 tylenol and I am in bed now. =/
Ugh I'm so sorry Chantal this sounds horrible. I don't have any experience with anything like that but I just wanted to tell you i'm praying for you!!
My friend had something similar to where she was dislocating her pelvis when she was pregnant.... I would get it checked out. It could also be baby kicking that area but I would call my OB right away
