TMI personal question about my son's "downstairs"

i know the right place to post this is most likely the maternal and child forum but this is where my friends are and i trust and value you girl's opinions.

So, i apologize if this embarrasses or makes anyone uncomfortable but im concerned!
Tonight when i was getting Matt ready for bed and was changing his diaper i noticed he has a lump in his testicles ...like a pea sized round lumpy thing. I felt it and its kind of harder and movable in there, but it didnt seem to hurt him at all. The first thing i did was call for my fiance because he has a penis and i dont lol so i was hoping he would know something i didnt about little lumpy things down there (haha). Unfortunately he said he's never noticed any little lumps like that on himself before but that maybe it could be a vein of some kind but that we should prolly have the doc look at it on tuesday (his next appointment) just to be on the safe side. I dunno if im buying the vein idea only because its completely round...like a little pebble but pea sized and a bit squishier than a pebble would be. I just was wondering if someone who has boys could tell me if they've noticed anything like this on them...like maybe its just part of everything growing and evolving and coming together or all that jazz ...i just dont want to go into the doctors office like a total worried nut when its actually totally normal for little baby testicles to have lumpy things in them here and there. i just saw testicle+lump= bad news.....at least thats what it is for adults.
oh a mother's worry....lol sorry guys im probably just a little paranoid, i always worry about every little thing when it comes to him...first baby syndrome i guess!

I agree with the other ladies.   Let his doctor check on this.

I agree that it's best to have the ped check it at his appt this week.  I've never noticed anything like that on either of my boys, but....and DH would probably kill me for telling anyone this LOL...One of his testicles has numerous little lumps.  It doesn't just have the normal "one ball" ...it almost feels as if it's been "crushed" but so far there have been no problems with it, and apparently it has NOT affected his reproduction skills (baby #6 on the way)  His has been like that since before I met him 11 years ago.

Anyway, my point is, it could just be something normal, atleast normal for your son, but it's definately worth having it looked at.

i would seriously ask his doctor! i dont have experience i know but what i do know and have realized is that alot of dog and human problems go hand in hand and i know that my cousins dog has the same issue with his testicles well my grandma got all freaked out called the vet turns out the dog was just "turned on" per say! LOL i know that sounds bad but you do realize men dont have these puberty issues with this as we do so it could seriously be something like that! my husband has 4 brothers and he has told me that baby boys do get erections sometimes! i hope im not freaking you but it could be a simple issue as that so ask his pediatrician for what is normal but you do need to know what is going on!

I think it would be best to check with the pediatrician on this.  Truthfully, it could be nothing or it could be something.  Sorry - that sounds so unhelpful.  I just hate to guess one way or another.  I know that I am always worried about my sons' downstairs too.  Whether it's red in a certain area or there is a lump or something, I am asking my hubby to check it out.  And as my older one (who is 5) is growing, he often complains about pain in his penis or testes.  That really scares me!  I think that with a baby boy, it could be totally normal in development and may go away, or it coul be something they may want to address (like an inguinal hernia, hydrocele, varicocele).  Without anyone on here being able to actually see it or feel it, it's hard to even begin to figure it out.  I certainly wouldn't panic about it, especially if it isn't hurting him and their is no skin discoloration (and I mean like blue or purple).  When you have your appt., just ask them :-).  Will make you feel better :-)

Yes, the worries of motherhood...and they are never-ending!
