i know how you feel!! we just got an old english bulldog puppy a couple months ago... IT IS SOOOO STRESSFUL!!! the dog would pee and poo EVERYWHERE! i would seriously break down and cry. she's a lot better now then she use to be. we use the pee pads and place them by the door. we also let her outside at least once every hour when we are home, and immediately after she drinks or eats. during the day she is in her kennel and she hasnt peed in it at all.
i know that its very stressful and seems like nothing will work, but i assure you it will. be very consistant with everything... and he'll catch on in no time!! also there is a dog forum on here too... and everyone is soooo helpful. one person just taught me how to kennel train my dog!! go check it out!
We use training pads for my little dog, they are scented (not that a human can smell) so that the dog will pee on them. You can leave them by the door or in an area where your puppy frequently pees.
It does take a long time for puppies to learn. My dog learn by 5 month I got him when he was 12 weeks. He would even pee when he was sleeping...just like babies. At your puppies age he probably wont alert you for a while. I would just bring my puppy our every couple hours...then I was able to extend it. A crate or also a laundry room with a pet gate works well. We use both for my dog, then crate helps him sleep better at night it he is in it and the laundry room is during the day so he can play if he wants.
Puppies pee all the time! The kennel thing is a good idea but if he stayed in one a while he may have had to use it in there and doesnt know any better.
It took my dog about a month to become trained. I consistently took him out every hour and when we were not home we left him in the crate. We would also give him a treat when he went potty outside, and if he did go inside we would have to catch him in the act to address it with a No! and then scoop him up to take him outside even if he already went.
but the real trick is....being consistent and taking them out every hour and 10 minutes after they eat or drink

he probably got use to going in the crate they kept him in. they have this stuff called no go and you can spray it on the spots he pee'd on and he won't go there. also they have training pads, you just place them near the door. i usually take my pup outside after she's eaten and once she does her business i pet her and say good girl and give her a treat but only if she went to the bathroom :) she's a work in progress, hope this helps alittle bit.
