Up all night. unable to sleep.

28 weeks here, and officially have insomnia... Or something.

I can't get comfortable for ANYTHING (which never was a problem until very recently), and I am just so restless at night. I didn't fall asleep until 4am last night, and I have to be up at 630 5 days a week for school. I really want to take sleep aids, but don't know if it's safe.

I can't live like this. ): do you have any suggestions to make it easier to fall asleep?

you can take benadryl it makes you sleepy and is safe for pregnancy. I take one 25 mg capsule when I know I won't be able to sleep or if I'm in a bunch of pain that keeps me up.

Id be careful with some teas like chamomile, i read online that some teas are not safe at least in the 1st trimester.

B the way try drinking a cup of warm milk before bed that helps, you can also put lavender scent in your room or even take a warm shower or bath begore bed or you can also drink chamomile tea which will help you to relax you and fall asleep. I got all those tips from my psichology professor from a chapter about imsomnia.

I have the same problem too. I'm here awake all night long without being able to sleep while my husband falls asleep within 15 minutes. Hopefully this insomnia will go away, I been having them ever since my 20th week or so. I'm now 33 weeks.

Im 33 weeks and so jealous of my bf who falls asleep in 10 minutes or less. I have to get up at 5 every morning and cant even fall asleep until midnight if not later. I am doing a drug free pregnancy. (Just a personal choice I have nothing against other moms who take medicine during pregnancy) I have found that counting backwards from 100 a couple times a night works. Good luck!

I have the same problem and I'm 35+3. I really haven't figured out a solution besides napping whenever possible. Good luck dear :)

I have the same peoblem even before I was pregnant I had insomnia.  My dr. Told me to take tylenol pm I take it every night and my baby girl is perfectly fine. I go to bed early like 8 or 8:30 so I make sure I get plenty of rest. I hope this helps :) good luck
