What does this mean???

So, I had to fill out a questionaire with a million questions before I see an RE at the end of the month.  One of the questions was about acne, and whether I have it or not.  What does having acne mean?  (I've heard getting acne can be a sign of something, I just can't remember what)

Lately, I've been having so many breakouts, and today noticed I had some back acne.  Gross!  I never had acne before. I'm not sure if this is due to hormonal changes from being off the pill, or if it's a sign of something else.  Anyone know why the RE would ask about acne, and what this could mean?  Thanks.

When i was diagnosed with PCOS they asked me that same question...though i have never had acne, they told me that some gals with PCOS can have bad breakouts. They are just trying to narrow it down, to see what might be wrong. Dont worry, if it is PCOS or a hormonal imbalance, its not like they cant regulate it some how. Good luck!!!

I agree that acne is just a sign of hormonal imbalance and is not always just a "skin condition".

yeah...i hate waiting for anything...i'm coming to that point in pregnancy, i just wish he could be here already lol.....

i'm positive there a re a MILLION reasons for all the problems  you have, and for the ones you don't ;)

personally, i wouldnt get too worked up about it....heck, when i enlisted, they had "acne" on the medical form, where you check what your or your parents have.....and any med's you've taken or are taking for it....talk about unecessary, embarrassing, and completely irrelevant lol

I'm going to an RE for spotting I have throughout my cycle. . . my guess is low progesterone, but lately I've been getting acne, and my family has really good skin, and I've never been one to break out before.  I really hope it's still just hormones adjusting.  I have regular periods, and irregular periods are a sign of PCOS, so I hope it's not that. The waiting to find out what's wrong is the most frustrating thing!

nooooooooo.....lol don't get caught in the pcos part lol.....sometimes they ask ?'s to cover the whole body.....i'm not even sure what you're going to an RE for(nor can i pull it outta my hat what it stands for)....?

but don't automatically think acne is a sign of pcos....i've never had pcos, and i used to have terrible acne....and i'd get it on my bck(ugh yuck), face and neck.....it is to do with hormonal changes, however problematic skin can be inherited(so i've heard), so that makes things a little worse.....acne can sometimes be a sign of a period, pregnancy, all kinds of neat stuff, including puberty(which you've obviously passed though lol).....
